Kentucky

Head coach John Calipari has proven time and time again that experience may be overrated, at least if you are able to recruit at the level he does. Last year’s team finished 35-3 (14-2 in the SEC) and started one of the youngest, most inexperienced teams in the nation.

Simply par for the course for Calipari, who looks to be starting freshman point guard Brandon Knight (33 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists per game in high school in Florida) alongside freshman shooting guard Doron Lamb (23 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists per game for Oak Hill Academy in Virginia), and center Enes Kanter, a foreign product from Istanbul, Turkey.

Coming off the bench is phenomenal freshman Terrence Jones, an Oregon native who averaged 30 points and 14 rebounds per game in high school.

This Kentucky team may have as much depth as last year’s team, and could have a similar run in them. If Knight looks anything like John Wall, Derrick Rose or Tyreke Evans – former Calipari products who went on to star in the NBA – the Wildcats should have no problem reaching an Elite 8 or better.

As I have written numerous times in the past, line shopping is one of the most important parts of sports betting, and one of the biggest advantages to betting sports online in general. It is critical in the long term to have money in several different books, simply because all books offer different lines regularly. Even if the line is the same at two books, one may offer a reduced line because money is coming in differently at both sites.
