The Tigers will not look like the same team as last year's 23-11, 10-6 squad. Only two starters return from that team, including star Kim English, a junior small forward who averaged 14 points per game last year. English was rumored to transfer in the off season but decided to stick it out.
Alongside Kim is fellow wing Laurence Bowers, who averaged 10 points and 6 rebounds per game last year, as well as incoming power forward Tony Mitchell (21 points, 14 rebounds per game in high school last year).
While Missouri has a solid back court, it needs to find its star big man to replace Demarre Carroll and Leo Lyons. The Tigers are hoping that can be Mitchell, and that he does not suffer a steep learning curve. An up tempo team and one of the better teams in the Big 12, Missouri may be one and done in the tournament this year.
