Missouri Tigers
Despite an impressive 23 NCAA Tournament appearances, Missouri has the distinction of being the team with the second most tournament appearances without reaching a Final Four. The only team to have been to more NCAA Tournaments without a Final Four is BYU (24).
The Tigers came awfully close to one last year, losing in the Elite Eight. Former long time coach Norm Stewart led the Tigers for 32 years, winning 634 games along the way, but retired after allegations of recruiting violations surfaced. Quin Snyder coached Mizzou for several years before current coach Mike Anderson took over. The Tigers have produced a bit of NBA talent, the best known player being now retired guard Anthony Peeler.
