Boilermakers
The season has not even started, and already Purdue is having one of the most disappointing seasons ever. A highly ranked Big Ten team and the favorite to win the conference as well as a contender for the National Championship, things were looking great for the Boilermakers.
But last month, leading scorer Robbie Hummel (16 points per game) tore his ACL, injuring his knee for the second time this year and ending his season before it even started. Now, Purdue must scramble to replace him and hope not to shake its core.
The Boilermakers are not completely lost, as their front court returns with E’Twaun Moore (16 points per game) and JaJuan Johnson (16 points per game) returning, however that duo will be relied on every night. When one or both are not playing well, Purdue will struggle greatly. Without Hummel, Purdue is not a true contender, but is still a good team, and one that won 29 games last season.
