Arizona Cardinals Betting
(9-7, 9-7 AGAINST THE SPREAD): +2000 to win Super Bowl XLIV
Bet on the Arizona Cardinals this season at our number 1 rated sportsbook BookMaker.com
The cat's out of the bag on Arizona so betting on the Cardinals will be tricky. In a weak NFC West, the Cardinals will get some extra chalk on the spread bet due to their Super Bowl appearance last year. They have a light schedule with most of their tougher games (Indianapolis, Houston, Carolina, Minnesota, Green Bay) at home. As long as key players stay healthy, Arizona could be a solid bet at home in those matchups.
Cardinals Strength:
With or without Anquan Boldin on the opposite side, Larry Fitzgerald is a headache for defenses. The 6-foot-3 WR can do it all – run, catch, block and score. He reeled in 12 touchdowns in 2008 and is the Cardinals’ primary red zone target. Fitzgerald managed to achieve over 1,400 yards receiving on 96 catches despite sharing looks with the disgruntled Boldin, who will likely be a camp holdout.
Outside of Boldin's contract fuss and locker-room drama, the short-yardage threat is a beast over the middle and doesn't mind taking the hit. He proved that last season with a series of injuries. But when he's near 100 percent, Boldin is always a threat to add extra yards after the catch. He missed four games last year but still totaled over 1,000 yards and found the end zone 11 times.
The Cardinals’ secondary is the team's rock on defense. They held opponents to 221 passing yards last season and shored things up in the defensive backfield with the addition of CB Bryant McFadden. Speedy corner Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie led the team with four interceptions last year and is emerging as a standout pass defender. Strong safety Adrian Wilson is putting fear into opposing wideouts who dare cross the middle. He had 75 tackles and two forced fumbles in 2008. His partner Antrel Rolle has a nose for the football and is primed for a breakout year in just his second season at FS.
Cardinals Weakness:
Kurt Warner's run to the Super Bowl was the feel good story of 2008. Chances are Warner's 38-year-old body won't feel good as this season marches on. He was able to stay on the field last year despite being sacked 28 times, and put up over 4,500 yards through the air – which is less impressive when you look at Arizona's receiving corps. Until 2008, Warner hadn't played an entire 16-game schedule in seven years. Teams will test the old man in 2009 and more than likely, Warner will fail.
The Cardinals’ front seven lacks a pass rush and gets bailed out too many times by the secondary. The defensive line is undersized and gets pushed around by stronger rushing attacks. The linebackers will get more work this season with an emphasis on the 3-4 defense, but might not be up to the task. This is still the same defense that allowed the fifth-most points in the NFL last year.

Another rematch, but it isn’t because Arizona really didn’t show up to play last week. In general we like Green Bay but not in this spot. Arizona is the defending NFC Champion, they are playing at home and will find a way to win this game. Aaron Rogers and company will have many days in the sun
With emotions running high on both sides of the ball, one team (Florida) will benefit greatly. The other will suffer an embarrassing loss on New Year’s Day. Cincinnati is playing without former head coach Brian Kelly, who led the Bearcats to significant success in recent years
Arizona played like the Lions last week and won, while the Rams played great and lost, but such is life. Good teams find a way to win while bad teams find a way lose. This has been a great week to bet so far as we feel strongly about our picks. This game however scares us
Virginia coach Al Groh has beaten the Cavaliers’ arch rival Hokies just one time in his nine years at UVA. He and the Cavaliers look to make that number two and possibly avoid his firing this Saturday in Charlottesville. The Hokies are in a down year at 8-3 and will not contend for the ACC Championship,
Not quite the same allure as the Red River Rivalry between Texas and Oklahoma, but this week’s Bedlam Rivalry game is Oklahoma State’s Super Bowl. The Cowboys have had a tremendous season so far and Oklahoma is sitting at 6-5, ensured of its worst season since 1999
Boise State doesn’t play too many home games where they are only 14 point favorites, but that is exactly what they are this week when Nevada comes to play on the blue turf. Boise State needs a win this week, and badly. Though the Broncos are 11-0, their only hope for a BCS appearance
Despite an 11-0 record up to this point, Alabama still realistically needs to win its next two games to get into the National Championship. With Florida a perfect 11-0 as well, the Crimson Tide will need to beat Auburn this week and Florida in the SEC Championship
At first glance you might think that it was quite a shocker that Oakland beat Cincinnati last week, but at we said the Bengals were coming off their biggest win in years and might be flat. We also felt that Jamarcus Russell was hindering the Raider offense and the switch to anybody but he was the correct move
The betting line here has gone up from 7.5 to 9 very quickly. Arizona won this game in Seattle a few weeks ago 27-3,and do you really believe this is going to be any different. Arizona has been playing some of the best football in the NFL as of late.
The Cardinals really proved that they are for real by going into Giants stadium and beating the Giants last week. The Panthers threw in a stinker last week in losing to Buffalo. The early money here has knocked the line up from 7.5 up to 10, quite an increase
We still love the Texans and feel that they have not begun to play their best football yet. They started to play the way we feel they are capable last week with an impressive 26-9 victory that was part of our teaser.
Both of these teams have problems. Miami really can’t play offense at the N.F.L. level. They look like a college or high school team at times, with their “Wildcat” offense and their quarterback who throws the ball like a shot put. Another quarterback, who has a funky delivery is Phillip Rivers
The next 2 games that we are picking, we are going a little bit out on a limb. There are 2 home dogs that both played very well last week as huge underdogs. Both teams had opportunities to win outright but didn’t.
Jacksonville played their hearts out at the Colts last week in Indianapolis, as we said they would, but although they covered, they came up a little short.
If this match up seems familiar, it is because it should. The Cardinals served as the 2009 NFL Playoff's version of Cinderella, upsetting Carolina and Philadelphia before losing 27-23 to the Steelers in the Super Bowl.
