Both of these teams are on the down side. Carolina lost at home last week to Miami, and the Jets got pelted by New England. One of these teams will get a win this week but we are not sure of which one that will be. What we are certain about is that both of this offenses have struggled

Not quite the same allure as the Red River Rivalry between Texas and Oklahoma, but this week’s Bedlam Rivalry game is Oklahoma State’s Super Bowl. The Cowboys have had a tremendous season so far and Oklahoma is sitting at 6-5, ensured of its worst season since 1999

Despite an 11-0 record up to this point, Alabama still realistically needs to win its next two games to get into the National Championship. With Florida a perfect 11-0 as well, the Crimson Tide will need to beat Auburn this week and Florida in the SEC Championship

Boise State doesn’t play too many home games where they are only 14 point favorites, but that is exactly what they are this week when Nevada comes to play on the blue turf. Boise State needs a win this week, and badly. Though the Broncos are 11-0, their only hope for a BCS appearance

At first glance you might think that it was quite a shocker that Oakland beat Cincinnati last week, but at we said the Bengals were coming off their biggest win in years and might be flat. We also felt that Jamarcus Russell was hindering the Raider offense and the switch to anybody but he was the correct move

Miami won but didn’t cover last week versus Tampa Bay while Carolina won as a 2 point dog at home against Atlanta. Our football sense said take Atlanta, but we knew better as our gambling sense said take the home dog

We made money on Carolina +12.5 at New Orleans last week,but were disappointed that Carolina didn’t win the game outright. Late mistakes in the second half cost them the game. Atlanta however rolled over Washington like we said they would.

The Saints showed that they are human, by not covering vs. Atlanta last week. Carolina shocked Arizona in Arizona. This is a division game and the Panthers will bring their "A" game this week. The Saints have been playing at a very high level every week

The Cardinals really proved that they are for real by going into Giants stadium and beating the Giants last week. The Panthers threw in a stinker last week in losing to Buffalo. The early money here has knocked the line up from 7.5 up to 10, quite an increase

At the time of writing this column, there was no line on this game due to the injury to Bill quarterback Trent Edwards. Ryan Fitzpatrick is more than capable as his backup. Carolina is playing better, they have won two straight after losing their first 3.

Carolina won a game that they should have lost last week versus Washington. Tampa Bay is playing better but still getting killed. This is a division game and will be close.

Both of these teams have been playing terrible this year. This will be an ugly game to watch. Carolina is coming off a bye, after playing good for 30 minutes at Dallas 2 weeks ago. Washington almost lost at home to Tampa bay after losing to the Lions

This is the tricky part of our teaser. All of the other parts of this teaser were based on simple math, odds and probability. In this one although the math is good, we need our team to not lay an egg.

Both of these teams have problems. Miami really can’t play offense at the N.F.L. level. They look like a college or high school team at times, with their “Wildcat” offense and their quarterback who throws the ball like a shot put. Another quarterback, who has a funky delivery is Phillip Rivers

This game scares me, not only as a Giant fan but as a bettor. This is a trap game for the Giants. After 2 huge wins against division rivals, Dallas and Washington, they now play 3 games in a row versus bad teams

The next 2 games that we are picking, we are going a little bit out on a limb. There are 2 home dogs that both played very well last week as huge underdogs. Both teams had opportunities to win outright but didn’t.

Boy did Carolina look bad last week. And boy did Atlanta look good last week. The Panthers got killed by Philly, and Atlanta was shutting out a good pretty good Miami team till a late garbage touchdown made the score a deceptive 19-7.

This is an excellent game between 2 teams that are “solid”, but overrated. Philadelphia goes into this game a 1 point favorite. Everyone is picking the Eagles to go to the Superbowl. Ridiculous!

The Panthers better get used to playing the Giants at the Meadowlands quickly – their preseason game is a precursor to their Week 16 matchup at New York later this season.
