Bengals Betting Prediction
(4-11-1, 7-9 Against the Spread): +5000 to win Super Bowl XLIV
Bet on the Cincinnati Bengals this season at our number 1 rated sportsbook TotalBets.com
: If Palmer is healthy and can kiss and make up with Ochocinco, the Bengals could put some points on the board. Add a dash of poor defense and Cincinnati could be a great over wager for total bettors. As far as covering the spread bet, don't expect the boys in stripes to do much with a grueling first-half schedule.
Bengals Strength:
The Bengals lost their star quarterback just five weeks into last season and watched the offense fall apart. Now, Carson Palmer is back behind center after dodging the surgery bullet. If his elbow is ready, Palmer should take his place among the top passers in the league. He's crafty, smart with the football, and is accurate short or downfield.
Having Palmer back on the field will help outspoken WR Chad Ochocinco regain his Pro-Bowl form – no matter how much smack he talks about his QB. Ochocinco caught just 53 balls for 540 yards and four touchdowns in 2008. Injuries and QB Ryan Fitzpatrick's lack of an arm is partially to blame for the decline. Ochocinco will also thrive with WR Laveranues Coles on the opposite side. Coles is a speedster who will also enjoy Palmer's cannon. Last season with the Jets, he caught 70 balls for 850 yards and seven scores from another gunslinger – Brett Favre.
In last year's mess, the defense was the lone bright spot. Cincinnati has a deep and talented linebacker corps heading into 2009. Back are standouts Dhani Jones and sophomore Keith Rivers, who missed half the season with a broken jaw. The Bengals added USC madman Rey Maualuga to beef up the pass rush that was non-existent last year.
Bengals Weakness:
Cincinnati's defense managed to stay in the top half of yards against last year. But while they held their own in some games, the Bengals couldn't get to opposing quarterbacks. The young defensive line had only 11 sacks. In the secondary, Cincy's defensive backs weren't helped out by the lack of pressure, picking off just 17 passes. Leon Hall led the team with three interceptions but only because opponents picked on the third-year CB. He had at least five passes thrown to his side in 13 games last year.
The Bengals aren't asking much from their running game, especially with Palmer's arm stretching the linebackers. But the depth chart just doesn't have the talent to do even the simplest task. Running back Cedric Benson is a big bruising rusher who joined the team in Week 5 last year and put up impressive numbers, totaling 747 yards. But Benson is a one-dimensional rusher who lacks breakout speed and is useless in the pass game. Behind him, Cincy is left with block-first RB Kenny Watson. The veteran was hampered by injuries last season and can't handle a serous workload.

Indianapolis enters this game with an 0-5 straight-up record and 3-2 against-the-spread mark, dropping a 28-24 contest to the Kansas City Chiefs last week as one-point home favorites.
Cincinnati heads back on the road and will bring in the league’s No. 1 defense to face the worst offense in the NFL. The Bengals covered their first two games of the season that happened to be on the road, including a 27-17 season-opening win against Cleveland as 6.5-point underdogs.
Buffalo became the first team in NFL history to win back-to-back games after trailing by 18 or more points in each at one point. The Bills are also the only team in the NFL to feature three players with three or more touchdowns in 2011.
San Francisco heads out on the road for the first time this season and it will be the 14th meeting between these teams. The 49ers hold a 10-3 (.769) advantage, which is the second highest winning percentage against any opponent in franchise history.
Cincinnati pulled off a 27-17 upset over the Cleveland Browns as 6.5-point road underdogs and will now seek a second consecutive road win. The Bengals are hoping that
The Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns will be playing for the 76th time Sunday afternoon when facing off inside Cleveland Browns Stadium. The Browns opened up as a 3-point home favorite and has since moved to 6.5-7 in most spots
Florida Atlantic travels to The Swamp in Gainesville and will begin the final season under head coach Howard Schnellenberger, who began the program 13 years ago, taking it from obscurity into the major college football ranks
LSU is a dominating 20-4 all-time against current members of the Pac-12 Conference, which includes a 3-0 mark under Miles. Playing inside of a dome will likely factor little in the Tigers ability to come out with a victory, entering with a 22-7 all-time mark when indoors. LSU has won
Indianapolis has dropped all three preseason games straight-up, but did manage to cover the spread in its 24-21 loss to the Green Bay Packers as nine-point home underdogs
Carolina is now 1-1 ATS on the season after dropping a 20-10 road contest to the Miami Dolphins as six-point underdogs. The Panthers started the exhibition season with a 20-10 win over
Bettors are enjoying a unique opportunity to start playing around with the NFL Week 1 lines this year, even with many roster spots in doubt due to free agency starting this week. Professional bettors will continue moving these numbers around until the season kicks off with a premiere matchup
The ongoing negotiations between the NFL owners and the Players Association to arrive at a new CBA (collective bargaining agreement) continue to point towards a resolution that could potentially end a four-month owner imposed lockout of the players and reopen the league for business as early as the end of this week
The 2011 Pro Bowl returns to Hawaii after being held in Miami, Florida last year. The annual contest of the AFC's and NFC's best will take place Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at 7 p.m. ET. This is only the second time in history that the Pro Bowl will be held the week
Cincinnati finally played a good game last week now that it’s too late. Baltimore keeps rolling along, and don’t be surprised if they represent the AFC in the Superbowl. The Ravens will
Cincinnati finally won one last week, but they are still playing terrible while San Diego is starting to go on their usual December run. This game is a
Oh the Bengals, what a waste of talent. They couldn’t even keep it close on Thanksgiving last week. We are going to keep including
The Bengals should have won that game last week against Pittsburgh, too many costly turnovers cost them the game. Indianiapolis is still really banged up on offense
The Bengals have been disappointing this year. I guess Terrell Owens is ahead of schedule in destroying a team’s chemistry. However, Pittsburgh has been playing better than expected. This is going to be a great game
Miami has been playing great football and not winning while Cincinnati has been playing lousy football and not winning. We have no idea who is going to win this game. If the real Bengal team shows
Boy, the Bengals have been disappointing this year. Atlanta has played great until they threw in a stinker at Philadelphia last week. We are going to pick Cincinnati for 2 reasons
Cincinnati really let us down last week. At least we hit with them as part of our teaser. We are still not sure about Tampa Bay. We were surprised last time out when they got killed
Another great week. We went 7-3 and hit on our big teaser bet. That makes it year to date, 27-14-1 and 3-1 on Teaser betting. We will start the week
After a so-so week our record this year stands at 20-11-1. Now things are going to get tougher as some teams throw in the towel, and the favorites start to cover. That is not our style to take the favorites
The Bengals won a very very important game last week versus Baltimore. Carolina has all sorts of problems and will likely start Jimmy Clausen
After a surprising Week 3 performance in which Wisconsin barely squeaked out a 20-19 win over Arizona State and needed a blocked extra point to do it, the Badgers get
We knew that Baltimore was going to beat the Jets last week; we were surprised however that Cincinnati wasn’t more prepared versus New England
Everybody thought we were crazy when we picked the Bengals last year to win the division. They odds are shorter this year, but I’m a little more worried. Jordan Shipley will help at wide right
No more messing around here. No more worrying about what team is resting their players and who will be eliminated with a loss and all of all that other nonsense. It's time for real football, the NFL playoffs and the pursuit of being a world champion. Traditionally the dogs do very well on wild card weekend, and then the favorites win big a week later.
With emotions running high on both sides of the ball, one team (Florida) will benefit greatly. The other will suffer an embarrassing loss on New Year’s Day. Cincinnati is playing without former head coach Brian Kelly, who led the Bearcats to significant success in recent years
The Bengals still haven’t clinched the division yet and they are starting to feel the Ravens breathing down their necks. Make no mistake about it, either they win this game this week and clinch, or they were a fraud all along. They were not a fraud and
We knew the Bengals were going to have an off week but losing that game against the raiders is unacceptable. That is not what Champions do. Luckily for them Pittsburgh and Baltimore also lost. Everybody is entitled to make mistakes but, one must learn from their mistakes
Virginia coach Al Groh has beaten the Cavaliers’ arch rival Hokies just one time in his nine years at UVA. He and the Cavaliers look to make that number two and possibly avoid his firing this Saturday in Charlottesville. The Hokies are in a down year at 8-3 and will not contend for the ACC Championship,
Not quite the same allure as the Red River Rivalry between Texas and Oklahoma, but this week’s Bedlam Rivalry game is Oklahoma State’s Super Bowl. The Cowboys have had a tremendous season so far and Oklahoma is sitting at 6-5, ensured of its worst season since 1999
Boise State doesn’t play too many home games where they are only 14 point favorites, but that is exactly what they are this week when Nevada comes to play on the blue turf. Boise State needs a win this week, and badly. Though the Broncos are 11-0, their only hope for a BCS appearance
Despite an 11-0 record up to this point, Alabama still realistically needs to win its next two games to get into the National Championship. With Florida a perfect 11-0 as well, the Crimson Tide will need to beat Auburn this week and Florida in the SEC Championship
At first glance you might think that it was quite a shocker that Oakland beat Cincinnati last week, but at we said the Bengals were coming off their biggest win in years and might be flat. We also felt that Jamarcus Russell was hindering the Raider offense and the switch to anybody but he was the correct move
Everybody thought we were crazy when we bet Cincinnati to win their division before the season, but I quess we weren't so crazy. It was simply a process of elimination. There were only 4 possibilities. It wasn’t going to be Cleveland, Pittsburgh was drinking champagne, and at the time I placed my bet Baltimore’s only good receiver was in retirement
The best game of the week. Both teams come into this game with a record of 6-2. The Bengals have a division record of 4-0, whereas the Steelers are 1-1 in the AFC North. The Bengals also have a win over Pittsburgh earlier in the season. The Steelers need this game a little more based on Division
Both of these teams have problems. Miami really can’t play offense at the N.F.L. level. They look like a college or high school team at times, with their “Wildcat†offense and their quarterback who throws the ball like a shot put. Another quarterback, who has a funky delivery is Phillip Rivers
The next 2 games that we are picking, we are going a little bit out on a limb. There are 2 home dogs that both played very well last week as huge underdogs. Both teams had opportunities to win outright but didn’t.
New Orleans was a profitable machine last year for NFL bettors, finishing 10-5 AGAINST THE SPREAD despite an 8-8 record straight up.
Stop thinking about rain by itself as a bad weather indicator. Look at the mix of wind, turf quality, and precipitation. It's the mix that matters, not one third of the mix.
Beating NFL 1st Quarter Lines
Bettors no longer have to look at mere sides and/or game totals to strike it rich as mostly all the online sports books (and many Las Vegas) outlets provide first and second half wagering lines along with quarter by quarter prices too on football betting.
