There are too many things up in the air to consider Denver as a solid wager. Football Bettors should wait at least a couple weeks to see… No. 1: How Orton and the WR corps gel. No. 2: How the defense deals with transition. No. 3: If key players remain healthy. The Broncos’ offense could be a surprise in nfl betting if they can get the ground game rolling.
Broncos Strength:
The loss of Jay Cutler will hurt the Broncos’ talented receiving corps. But that same group of wideouts will help new quarterback Kyle Orton adjust to life in the Mile High City. Depending on if Brandon Marshall ends his crying, the third-year WR will be the go-to guy in Denver. No. 2 receiver Eddie Royal is coming off an impressive rookie campaign in which he had three games with over 100 yards and totaled just under 1,000 yards on the season. Along with Brandon Stokley and TE Tony Scheffler, the Broncos have one of the most underrated receiving corps in the NFL.
Denver will platoon at the running back position this season, sharing carries between Correll Buckhalter, LaMont Jordan and rookie Knowshon Moreno, who could be the standout of the three. The Broncos drafted the RB of Georgia in the first round and are expecting big things. Moreno is a nice blend of size and shiftiness and will get the majority of the touches to start the season. Denver may even use him out of the infamous wildcat set.
Broncos Weakness:
Denver's defense is under the control of former 49ers coach Mike Nolan – who watched San Francisco's defense turn things around once he was driven out of town. The Broncos will be jumping between the 4-3 and 3-4 this season, making it a tough transition for the defensive ends. The front three aren't strong and the linebacker corps has a lot of questions heading into the season.
Last season, the Broncos allowed 229 passing yards per game. That led the team to dismantle the secondary. Leader Champ Bailey remains but is surrounded by new faces Andre Goodman, Renaldo Hill and Brian Dawkins. Bailey and Dawkins are injury prone and could leave this unit looking to unproven talent if things fall apart midway through the season.

With emotions running high on both sides of the ball, one team (Florida) will benefit greatly. The other will suffer an embarrassing loss on New Year’s Day. Cincinnati is playing without former head coach Brian Kelly, who led the Bearcats to significant success in recent years
The Eagles have been playing great as of late, and we grade them at the highest we have graded them in years. Donovan finally has some playmakers and they get Brian Westbrook back this week
The Broncos have been very tough to figure out all year. In the pre season they looked like the worst team in football, then got off to a 6-0 start, then lost 4 straight. 2 weeks ago they destroyed the Giants and last week killed the Chiefs. The Colts did what they always do and that's win
Not quite the same allure as the Red River Rivalry between Texas and Oklahoma, but this week’s Bedlam Rivalry game is Oklahoma State’s Super Bowl. The Cowboys have had a tremendous season so far and Oklahoma is sitting at 6-5, ensured of its worst season since 1999
Virginia coach Al Groh has beaten the Cavaliers’ arch rival Hokies just one time in his nine years at UVA. He and the Cavaliers look to make that number two and possibly avoid his firing this Saturday in Charlottesville. The Hokies are in a down year at 8-3 and will not contend for the ACC Championship,
Despite an 11-0 record up to this point, Alabama still realistically needs to win its next two games to get into the National Championship. With Florida a perfect 11-0 as well, the Crimson Tide will need to beat Auburn this week and Florida in the SEC Championship
Boise State doesn’t play too many home games where they are only 14 point favorites, but that is exactly what they are this week when Nevada comes to play on the blue turf. Boise State needs a win this week, and badly. Though the Broncos are 11-0, their only hope for a BCS appearance
At first glance you might think that it was quite a shocker that Oakland beat Cincinnati last week, but at we said the Bengals were coming off their biggest win in years and might be flat. We also felt that Jamarcus Russell was hindering the Raider offense and the switch to anybody but he was the correct move
Both of these teams started the year out very hot, and then fell on difficult times. One of these teams however is back on track and the other is still in trouble. I think you can figure out which team is which. The Broncos were never that good and used a motivating rookie coach
Denver is in trouble if they lose Kyle Orton for an extended period of time. Chris Simms has no talent and is only in the NFL because of his father. San Diego is playing much better as of late
The Broncos played pretty good for one half against Pittsburgh last week. The Redskins haven't played well since George Bush was President. They got killed by Atlanta last week. It’s put up or shut up time for the Broncos who
Denver came down to earth last week, and was never really in the game at Baltimore. Pittsburgh had a bye last week after beating Minnesota the week before. Denver showed against the Ravens, that although they are a good team
When we pick a 13 point teaser, we look for games that either will win or we will be very shocked that they didn’t cover. Of all the games left on the schedule this game comes closest to fitting into those rules. Denver has been surprising people all year, and has been playing some of the best defense in all of football.
The Broncos have been making us money every week, and San Diego has been hot and cold. The Chargers have had 2 weeks to think about their pathetic defensive performance vs. Pittsburgh. In the 4th quarter they showed that when they are in trouble they can score very quickly.
Denver showed last week that although they might not be ready to win a championship, they still are pretty good. We had them at +3 before the game
The Broncos are continuing to shock people. They come into this game at 3-0, but really, who have they beaten, Cleveland, Oakland and the Bengals. We love the Broncos but it took a fluke play to win that one.
Both of these teams have problems. Miami really can’t play offense at the N.F.L. level. They look like a college or high school team at times, with their “Wildcat” offense and their quarterback who throws the ball like a shot put. Another quarterback, who has a funky delivery is Phillip Rivers
This game scares me, not only as a Giant fan but as a bettor. This is a trap game for the Giants. After 2 huge wins against division rivals, Dallas and Washington, they now play 3 games in a row versus bad teams
One of the better rivalry games in the N.F.L. Somehow (don’t ask me how), the Broncos are 2-0.The Raiders have played very well in almost beating the Chargers and beating the Chiefs.
The next 2 games that we are picking, we are going a little bit out on a limb. There are 2 home dogs that both played very well last week as huge underdogs. Both teams had opportunities to win outright but didn’t.
This is the most dangerous part of our 4 team teaser. Both of these teams are pretty bad. The Broncos got extremely lucky with that late touchdown to Brandon Stokley, to defeat the Bengals last week.
This game is an easy one, as these two teams are going in opposite directions. One team has a mess at quarterback, a young and inexperienced head coach, a spoiled brat at wide receiver who doesn’t want to play for the team, and no defense.
The Broncos take on a much different look this season after having to replace long time head coach Mike Shanahan (retirement), one of the game’s most successful coaches
Monday Night Football Betting
Probably the most well known handicapping angle is the “Monday Night Home Underdog.”
Stop thinking about rain by itself as a bad weather indicator. Look at the mix of wind, turf quality, and precipitation. It's the mix that matters, not one third of the mix.
Beating NFL 1st Quarter Lines
Bettors no longer have to look at mere sides and/or game totals to strike it rich as mostly all the online sports books (and many Las Vegas) outlets provide first and second half wagering lines along with quarter by quarter prices too on football betting.
