Bet on the Indianapolis Colts this season at our number 1 rated sportsbook BookMaker.com
The Colts are still a big public team and will face lofty pointspreads. Bettors and fans will begin to see the decline of Indianapolis and should wager accordingly. Injuries could also come into play especially with SS Bob Sanders, who played just six games last year.
Colts Strength:
Peyton Manning quietly won the NFL MVP award – if that's possible – last season, further solidifying his Hall of Fame career. Manning aired it out for more than 4,000 yards and 27 touchdowns. While those numbers are a decline, Manning's presence instantly makes the Colts a contender. He will be under a new head coach in Jim Caldwell, who is smart enough to let Manning do his thing.
The Colts’ receivers would not be as good if they had some other QB staring them down. But as long as Manning is calling the plays, WR Reggie Wayne, Anthony Gonzalez and TE Dwight Clark will be one of the best statistical receiving corps in the NFL. Wayne stepped into the No. 1 spot left by the departure of Marvin Harrison, and Gonzalez and Clark could have career years with their looks on the rise.
Colts Weakness:
Thanks to the strength of the passing game, Indianapolis has been able to get by with a so-so rushing attack. Running back Joseph Addai seems like a flash in the pan after his numbers took a tumble the past two seasons. His fragile frame will share carries with rookie Donald Brown.
A lot of Addai's issues have to do with the Colts' offensive line. They do a good job of keeping pass rushers away from Manning, giving up just 14 sacks, but couldn't give the running backs an inch. Center Jeff Saturday is getting older, tackle Tony Ugoh hasn't lived up to expectations and the rest of the O-line is wet behind the ears.
Indy’s defense does enough to win games. Last year, the stop unit was terrific against the pass and allowed just under 19 points per game. However, teams ran over the defensive line. The Colts gave up more than 122 yards on the ground per game and addressed that by drafting big bodies to plug up the middle. Pass rushers Dwight Freeney, Raheem Brock and Robert Mathis had been handcuffed on the ends due to the poor run stop.

The best 2 teams made the Super Bowl. Two months ago this was the match up that everyone wanted, then people started to talk about San Diego, Dallas, Baltimore or whatever team played one good game. The same people that said that the Colts wouldn’t recover from resting Peyton Manning are the same ones that are saying the Colts can’t lose this week.
Super Bowl Betting
For sports fans, Super Bowl Sunday is one of the best days of the year. For bettors, it can be not only entertaining, but profitable as well. This year’s Super Bowl predictably pitted the New Orleans Saints against the Indianapolis Colts. Through 14 weeks of the NFL season, these two teams combined for an unconscious 26-0 record, before both teams clinched home field advantage for the playoffs and rested their starters.
Maybe it’s time give the Jets a little credit and start to take them seriously or maybe not. This team is made up of a bunch of no name players, with a rookie quarterback, rookie coach, and one great corner back. It just goes to show you how important coaching is in football.
With emotions running high on both sides of the ball, one team (Florida) will benefit greatly. The other will suffer an embarrassing loss on New Year’s Day. Cincinnati is playing without former head coach Brian Kelly, who led the Bearcats to significant success in recent years
Both of these teams played games last week that will define their regular season. The Colts showed that they will be the Super bowl favorite come January, and the Jets blew one that might cost them the playoffs
This is the time of year when you must be very careful, because some teams are resting players, others are hungry, and some are just playing for their jobs. Each game must be analyzed separately, because each team takes a different view on when to rest their players. The coach of the Colts says that all healthy players will play in this game, and since 16-0 is still on the line that is probably true
The Broncos have been very tough to figure out all year. In the pre season they looked like the worst team in football, then got off to a 6-0 start, then lost 4 straight. 2 weeks ago they destroyed the Giants and last week killed the Chiefs. The Colts did what they always do and that's win
Virginia coach Al Groh has beaten the Cavaliers’ arch rival Hokies just one time in his nine years at UVA. He and the Cavaliers look to make that number two and possibly avoid his firing this Saturday in Charlottesville. The Hokies are in a down year at 8-3 and will not contend for the ACC Championship,
Not quite the same allure as the Red River Rivalry between Texas and Oklahoma, but this week’s Bedlam Rivalry game is Oklahoma State’s Super Bowl. The Cowboys have had a tremendous season so far and Oklahoma is sitting at 6-5, ensured of its worst season since 1999
Boise State doesn’t play too many home games where they are only 14 point favorites, but that is exactly what they are this week when Nevada comes to play on the blue turf. Boise State needs a win this week, and badly. Though the Broncos are 11-0, their only hope for a BCS appearance
Despite an 11-0 record up to this point, Alabama still realistically needs to win its next two games to get into the National Championship. With Florida a perfect 11-0 as well, the Crimson Tide will need to beat Auburn this week and Florida in the SEC Championship
At first glance you might think that it was quite a shocker that Oakland beat Cincinnati last week, but at we said the Bengals were coming off their biggest win in years and might be flat. We also felt that Jamarcus Russell was hindering the Raider offense and the switch to anybody but he was the correct move
This is an interesting matchup. At first look you might ask how the Ravens are favored in this game, but when you look more closely at it, you will see why. If there is any defense that can possibly stop Peyton Manning, it would be Baltimore. The Colts are coming off of a really big win and might be a little flat. The Ravens were embarrassed
Houston is starting to play like the team that I thought they would be before the season. They have won 3 straight against 3 pretty good teams. The Colts are 7-0, like they seem to be every year. The early (smart) money has knocked the line down from
We are going to start this week with our weekly teaser. We told you last week we guaranteed either a win, or something very memorable or shocking happening. After Pittsburgh-1, Green Bay-.5 and Patriots+3.5 covered extremely easily, the Giants +16 couldn’t keep it close at New Orleans. Shocking!
Both of these teams have problems. Miami really can’t play offense at the N.F.L. level. They look like a college or high school team at times, with their “Wildcat” offense and their quarterback who throws the ball like a shot put. Another quarterback, who has a funky delivery is Phillip Rivers
The next 2 games that we are picking, we are going a little bit out on a limb. There are 2 home dogs that both played very well last week as huge underdogs. Both teams had opportunities to win outright but didn’t.
