Patriots Betting Prediction
(11-5, 9-7 AGAINST THE SPREAD): +365 to win Super Bowl XLIV
Bet on the New England Patriots this season at our number 1 rated sportsbook TotalBets.com
The return of Brady will have the Patriots' early odds pumped up. Already a very public team, New England may have trouble covering the spread bet while Brady and the receivers get back on track. Once the offense finds it stride, New England should be a solid play especially on the road where it was 6-2 against the spread last year.
Patriots Strength:
Tom Brady is back behind center. And in order to ease the quarterback back into form, the Patriots added some additional weapons. Joining Randy Moss and Wes Welker on the wings are Joey Galloway and Greg Lewis, giving New England the deepest wide receiver set in the NFL. With Brady missing last season with the infamous Week 1 knee injury, the Patriots still managed to pass for over 220 yards per game and scored 21 times through the air.
Helping set up the pass was a platoon of running backs that combined for the sixth-best rushing attack in the league. This season, Laurence Maroney is back from an injury-shortened 2008 and leads new addition Fred Taylor, Sammy Morris and Kevin Faulk on the ground.
Both pass and rush games get a big boost from New England's offensive line. The line did a great job opening holes for the running backs despite a lack of true girth. The O-line is a set of speedy blockers that can adjust quickly to defenses. Led by standout Logan Mankins, the Patriots’ linemen did allow 48 sacks last season but much of that falls on the departed Matt Cassel. With Brady's pocket sense, that number will drop considerably.
Patriots Weakness:
Injuries impacted New England's defense last season. The front seven was depleted by the end of the year, leading to 107 rushing yards allowed per game last season. The Patriots have plenty of holes to fill before the season begins.
The linebacking corps is getting on in age and no longer has Mike Vrabel on the outside. Rookie standout Jerod Mayo will plug up the middle but without a true pass rush, opponents will pick apart the Patriots’ questionable secondary.
Last year, New England allowed 27 passing touchdowns due to the lack of a shutdown corner. Veterans Shawn Springs and Leigh Bodden were brought in but their health will be an issue all season. Rodney Harrison's career-ending injury leaves Brandon Meriweather as the team's top strong safety but FS is still up for grabs heading into training camp.

New England certainly knows that it has won 15 straight games in this series, but nobody is talking about it, as the squad is focused on simply moving its record to 3-0 on the season. “They have a lot of good football players and they’re doing things well in all three phases of the game

Florida Atlantic travels to The Swamp in Gainesville and will begin the final season under head coach Howard Schnellenberger, who began the program 13 years ago, taking it from obscurity into the major college football ranks
LSU is a dominating 20-4 all-time against current members of the Pac-12 Conference, which includes a 3-0 mark under Miles. Playing inside of a dome will likely factor little in the Tigers ability to come out with a victory, entering with a 22-7 all-time mark when indoors. LSU has won
The New York Giants have dropped two of three preseason games this year and the two losses have been absolutely awful to watch. Offensively, the team managed to score just 13 points combined against the Panthers and Jets in those particular contests.
New England has arguably been the best team in the NFL through two weeks of the preseason and will now travel to Ford Field—a place that saw them light up the scoreboard last Thanksgiving Day. The Patriots pummelled the Lions by winning a 45-24 contest as six-point road favorites
Bettors are enjoying a unique opportunity to start playing around with the NFL Week 1 lines this year, even with many roster spots in doubt due to free agency starting this week. Professional bettors will continue moving these numbers around until the season kicks off with a premiere matchup

Do you guys ever watch Bill O’Reilly on Fox News? He wrote a book called “Pinheads versus Patriotsâ€, well that could also be the title
The Bills haven’t given up yet. They are still playing hard very week and will play hard this Sunday. The Patriots found a way to win last week, even though
When Rodgers got hurt last week, Green Bay didn’t have a prayer. New England looks like the best team in football now, but there have been 4-5 others teams
The Jets have been winning and winning without really playing well while New England has been winning and has been playing well. Earlier this season the Jets won a close
There was an old joke that the Tennis player Vitas Gerulaitas told many years ago. He had lost to Jimmy Connors 16 times in a row then when he finally won and in the press conference said
The Steelers have been finding a way to win close games every week while the Patriots have been doing the same till last week. Both of these teams have trouble scoring some times
Cleveland is another team that has greatly exceeded expectations this year. As a matter of fact so have the Patriots. By the way, didn’t you love those old throwback uniforms
If you haven’t noticed the Patriots are tied for the best record in the league. I’m sure you have noticed that the Vikings have an overrated, grey bearded old man with sexual harassment
The Patriots really played hard last week and came away with a win against Baltimore. San Diego lost again on the road last week versus the Rams
The Bears are a good team and there defense is back. They always have one of the best special teams in the league, and the “Mad Scientist†Mike Martz
Baltimore is very very good while New England is very very not quite as good. We see one of these teams maybe going to the Super bowl, and the other getting
Another great week. We went 7-3 and hit on our big teaser bet. That makes it year to date, 27-14-1 and 3-1 on Teaser betting. We will start the week
It’s not time to give up on Miami. Had they have beaten the Jets ,they would be favored in this game, but now nobody is going to bet
Another profitable week as we went 7-4 with our picks, making year to date 15-6-1, and we hit on our second Big Teaser of the Year. We will start with our teaser bet of the week. The Patriots sure didn’t
After a surprising Week 3 performance in which Wisconsin barely squeaked out a 20-19 win over Arizona State and needed a blocked extra point to do it, the Badgers get
I thought that all the “experts†picked the Jets and Cowboys to go to the Super bowl this year. Well between the 2 of them they scored a total of 16 points
Everybody thought we were crazy when we picked the Bengals last year to win the division. They odds are shorter this year, but I’m a little more worried. Jordan Shipley will help at wide right
Of all the games this weekend, this is the one that is the toughest to figure out. The Ravens have been playing exceptional football as of late, and could go all the way. That being said, the Patriots have been playing terrible football the last few weeks but are still the Patriots
With emotions running high on both sides of the ball, one team (Florida) will benefit greatly. The other will suffer an embarrassing loss on New Year’s Day. Cincinnati is playing without former head coach Brian Kelly, who led the Bearcats to significant success in recent years
This is one of this week best bets. Jacksonville proved last week to the nation that they are for real. They could have won that game versus the Colts, but a late interception cost them the game
The Patriots showed last week that they really don’t care very much about this season. Did you see some of the really stupid passes that Tom Brady threw last week, maybe marriage doesn’t agree with him? It certainly doesn’t seem to be working for Tiger Woods. Sometimes really great athletes
Virginia coach Al Groh has beaten the Cavaliers’ arch rival Hokies just one time in his nine years at UVA. He and the Cavaliers look to make that number two and possibly avoid his firing this Saturday in Charlottesville. The Hokies are in a down year at 8-3 and will not contend for the ACC Championship,
Not quite the same allure as the Red River Rivalry between Texas and Oklahoma, but this week’s Bedlam Rivalry game is Oklahoma State’s Super Bowl. The Cowboys have had a tremendous season so far and Oklahoma is sitting at 6-5, ensured of its worst season since 1999
Boise State doesn’t play too many home games where they are only 14 point favorites, but that is exactly what they are this week when Nevada comes to play on the blue turf. Boise State needs a win this week, and badly. Though the Broncos are 11-0, their only hope for a BCS appearance
Despite an 11-0 record up to this point, Alabama still realistically needs to win its next two games to get into the National Championship. With Florida a perfect 11-0 as well, the Crimson Tide will need to beat Auburn this week and Florida in the SEC Championship
At first glance you might think that it was quite a shocker that Oakland beat Cincinnati last week, but at we said the Bengals were coming off their biggest win in years and might be flat. We also felt that Jamarcus Russell was hindering the Raider offense and the switch to anybody but he was the correct move
Both of these teams have problems. Miami really can’t play offense at the N.F.L. level. They look like a college or high school team at times, with their “Wildcat†offense and their quarterback who throws the ball like a shot put. Another quarterback, who has a funky delivery is Phillip Rivers
The next 2 games that we are picking, we are going a little bit out on a limb. There are 2 home dogs that both played very well last week as huge underdogs. Both teams had opportunities to win outright but didn’t.
After last year’s fluke injury in which quarterback Tom Brady missed the last 15 games of the season, New England bounces back with a healthy signal caller and a hunger to make the playoffs.
Stop thinking about rain by itself as a bad weather indicator. Look at the mix of wind, turf quality, and precipitation. It's the mix that matters, not one third of the mix.
Beating NFL 1st Quarter Lines
Bettors no longer have to look at mere sides and/or game totals to strike it rich as mostly all the online sports books (and many Las Vegas) outlets provide first and second half wagering lines along with quarter by quarter prices too on football betting.
