Saint Louis Rams Betting
(2-14, 6-10 Against the Spread): +8000 to win Super Bowl XLIV
Bet on the Saint Louis Rams this season at our number 1 rated sportsbook BookMaker.com
The Rams are on the right track with Spagnuolo at the wheel. But this will be an adjustment year. The defense will get burned learning the blitz while the offense could produce some surprising numbers. Any injuries to key players like Jackson and Bulger would make nfl betting on the Rams untouchable for bettors.
Rams Strength:
Running backs like Steven Jackson are like shooting stars. For a few brief moments they amaze and then, like that, they are gone. The bruising upright runner is still a force with the football, barging for over 1,000 yards and eight touchdowns despite missing four games. Jackson hasn't played a full season since 2006, when he rumbled for 1,500 yards and 13 scores. With the passing game all but gone in St. Louis, a lot is riding on Jackson's aching legs.
The Rams will make life easier for their RB. The offensive line got rid of aging center Orlando Pace but added Jason Brown to take his place. St. Louis also drafted Baylor blocker Jason Smith, who could get the nod at left tackle now that Alex Barron has been bumped to the right. The Rams have depth on the O-line just in case the injury bug strikes.
Rams Weakness:
Quarterback Marc Bulger is back under center for another season. He is still a good QB but crumbled under pressure. Hopefully the improved offensive line can cut down on last year's 45 sacks. Bulger threw 13 balls to the wrong team last season while finding his receivers just 57 percent of the time.
Casual football fans will be excused if they have no idea who is lining up on the wing in St. Louis. Bulger is staring down mystery men Donnie Avery, Keenan Burton and Derek Stanley. Avery was top of the 2008 WR draft class and caught 54 balls for just under 600 yards. The speedster is a tough cover downfield but comes in a tiny 184-pound package.
New head coach Steve Spagnuolo will have his front seven blitzing like there's no tomorrow. That could leave the secondary out to dry. The Rams tried to add to the secondary by bringing in S James Butler. Cornerback Ron Bartell could be primed for a breakout year and FS Oshiomogho Atogwe can produce turnovers. Other than them, St. Louis' mixing of man and Cover 4 will get picked on by good passing teams.

With emotions running high on both sides of the ball, one team (Florida) will benefit greatly. The other will suffer an embarrassing loss on New Year’s Day. Cincinnati is playing without former head coach Brian Kelly, who led the Bearcats to significant success in recent years
Arizona played like the Lions last week and won, while the Rams played great and lost, but such is life. Good teams find a way to win while bad teams find a way lose. This has been a great week to bet so far as we feel strongly about our picks. This game however scares us
Both of these teams played great games last week but didn’t have enough talent to beat their superior opponents. Steve Spagnolo is trying to build a team in St. Louis but it will take time. Jeff Fischer has all the pieces in place to be a contender next year as it might be a little too late this year. This will be a close game believe it or not, and 13.5 points are too many points
This is another one of those mid season games that nobody cares about. The Rams have been playing better as of late but can’t seem to find a way to win. It’s not going to get any easier this week with Mark Bulger out for 3-6 weeks
Virginia coach Al Groh has beaten the Cavaliers’ arch rival Hokies just one time in his nine years at UVA. He and the Cavaliers look to make that number two and possibly avoid his firing this Saturday in Charlottesville. The Hokies are in a down year at 8-3 and will not contend for the ACC Championship,
Not quite the same allure as the Red River Rivalry between Texas and Oklahoma, but this week’s Bedlam Rivalry game is Oklahoma State’s Super Bowl. The Cowboys have had a tremendous season so far and Oklahoma is sitting at 6-5, ensured of its worst season since 1999
Boise State doesn’t play too many home games where they are only 14 point favorites, but that is exactly what they are this week when Nevada comes to play on the blue turf. Boise State needs a win this week, and badly. Though the Broncos are 11-0, their only hope for a BCS appearance
Despite an 11-0 record up to this point, Alabama still realistically needs to win its next two games to get into the National Championship. With Florida a perfect 11-0 as well, the Crimson Tide will need to beat Auburn this week and Florida in the SEC Championship
At first glance you might think that it was quite a shocker that Oakland beat Cincinnati last week, but at we said the Bengals were coming off their biggest win in years and might be flat. We also felt that Jamarcus Russell was hindering the Raider offense and the switch to anybody but he was the correct move
Part 3 of our 3 team teaser bet is a bit of a risk. Any time you bet against a high powered offense such as New Orleans, Colts, or New England you take a chance. New Orleans however is becoming the hunted as opposed to the hunter. It is easier to win when when you play to win as opposed to playing to not lose
We are going to start this week with our weekly teaser. We told you last week we guaranteed either a win, or something very memorable or shocking happening. After Pittsburgh-1, Green Bay-.5 and Patriots+3.5 covered extremely easily, the Giants +16 couldn’t keep it close at New Orleans. Shocking!
Do I really have to talk about this game? Both of these teams put up embarrassing performances last week and cost us money. Jacksonville went up to Seattle and lost to a so-so Seahawk team 41-0.The Rams got crushed at home 38-10 by Minnesota.
No other person has cost us more money over the years than Brett Favre (except possibly Peyton Manning). He did it to us again on Monday Night.
Both of these teams have problems. Miami really can’t play offense at the N.F.L. level. They look like a college or high school team at times, with their “Wildcat” offense and their quarterback who throws the ball like a shot put. Another quarterback, who has a funky delivery is Phillip Rivers
The next 2 games that we are picking, we are going a little bit out on a limb. There are 2 home dogs that both played very well last week as huge underdogs. Both teams had opportunities to win outright but didn’t.
After compiling a 58-44 record from 2001 to 2006, the St. Louis Rams have fallen apart in the last two seasons, finishing 3-13 in 2007 and 2-14 (6-10 AGAINST THE SPREAD) in 2008.
