He and the Cavaliers look to make that number two and possibly avoid his firing this Saturday in Charlottesville. The Hokies are in a down year at 8-3 and will not contend for the ACC Championship,

Not quite the same allure as the Red River Rivalry between Texas and Oklahoma, but this week’s Bedlam Rivalry game is Oklahoma State’s Super Bowl. The Cowboys have had a tremendous season so far and Oklahoma is sitting at 6-5, ensured of its worst season since 1999

Boise State doesn’t play too many home games where they are only 14 point favorites, but that is exactly what they are this week when Nevada comes to play on the blue turf. Boise State needs a win this week, and badly. Though the Broncos are 11-0, their only hope for a BCS appearance

Despite an 11-0 record up to this point, Alabama still realistically needs to win its next two games to get into the National Championship. With Florida a perfect 11-0 as well, the Crimson Tide will need to beat Auburn this week and Florida in the SEC Championship

At first glance you might think that it was quite a shocker that Oakland beat Cincinnati last week, but at we said the Bengals were coming off their biggest win in years and might be flat. We also felt that Jamarcus Russell was hindering the Raider offense and the switch to anybody but he was the correct move

The betting line here has gone up from 7.5 to 9 very quickly. Arizona won this game in Seattle a few weeks ago 27-3,and do you really believe this is going to be any different. Arizona has been playing some of the best football in the NFL as of late.

The Rams had to win sooner or later; it just might as well have been against the Lions. The Seahawks played O.K. against the Cowboys but were never in the game. This is another one of those, mid season, who cares games

These are 2 of the most difficult teams to figure out this year. Seattle might win by 28 points one week then lose by 3 touchdowns the next. Dallas can really play bad at times (especially on the road), and look great at other times.

Great game here. Seattle is a different team with Matt Hassellbeck back at quarterback.The Seahawks are always tough at home. Arizona has had 2 weeks off to think about the sloppy game they played against Indy. Both teams need this division game badly, as San Francisco has joined the division equation.

Matt Hassellbeck might play this week for Seattle, which will greatly help the offense. Just as we said about Houston, the Jaguars finally started to play like the team that we thought they’d be last week

At the time of the writing of this column, there was no line on the Seahawk-Colt game. The reason for this is the questionable status of Seahawk Quarterback Matt Hassellbeck. With Hasselbeck, Seattle is a competitive team

Both of these teams have problems. Miami really can’t play offense at the N.F.L. level. They look like a college or high school team at times, with their “Wildcat” offense and their quarterback who throws the ball like a shot put. Another quarterback, who has a funky delivery is Phillip Rivers

The next 2 games that we are picking, we are going a little bit out on a limb. There are 2 home dogs that both played very well last week as huge underdogs. Both teams had opportunities to win outright but didn’t.

The Bears showed what they are made of last week, by beating the Steelers as we said they must. Seattle is in big trouble with the possible loss of Matt Hasselbeck with cracked ribs.

This game scares me, not only as a Giant fan but as a bettor. This is a trap game for the Giants. After 2 huge wins against division rivals, Dallas and Washington, they now play 3 games in a row versus bad teams

The Seahawks crushed the Rams last week, but it’s not time yet to start talking Championship yet in Seattle. The Rams are still getting adjusted to the changes that the new coach put in.

The other NFC West game will not be as entertaining as the first. These 2 teams are rebuilding and will not be very competitive this year. St. Louis however will be good in a few years behind new coach Steve Spagnolo.

The Seattle Seahawks would like to forget that 2008 ever happened. Their 4-12 record (7-8-1 AGAINST THE SPREAD) was largely due to the injury of quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, who appeared in just seven games, throwing for a career low 57.8 quarterback rating last season.
