Founded in 1976. Entered the league as an expansion team with T.B. Originally played in the AFC West and had some good years in 80's behind Jim Zorn. They moved to the NFC West after realignment. Their best year however was in 2005 when they went to the Superbowl and lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Superbowl Appearances (1).SuperBowl Wins (0).
2009 Season Preview
Mike Holmgren is finally out as their Head Coach. The new Coach Jim Mora has had some success, but it has been "Lukewarm". The biggest problem last year with the Seahawks was that QB Matt Hasseleck was hurt all year. They drafted Mike Teel from Rutgers to be his eventual replacement. Losing Juilian Peterson will hurt the Defense, but drafting Aaron Curry will more then make up for it. He might be the best college player taken this year. Max Unger will help at center and guard. The real big pick-up this off-season was T.J. Houshmanzadeh, as he will finally give Matt Hasselbeck someone to throw to. Maybe we are underestimating the Seahawks a little, but look for them to put up 7-8 wins and be in the middle of the pack this year.

The Philadelphia Eagles travel to the West Coast on a short week to square-off against the Seattle Seahawks in front of a Thursday night prime-time audience at the CenturyLink Field. The kick-off is slated for 8:20 (p.m.) and the game will be broadcast nationally on the NFL Network.
Seattle is one of the worst road teams in the NFL and has already dropped both games away from the Pacific Northwest this season, falling 33-17 to the San Francisco 49ers and 24-0 versus the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Atlanta will already be playing its third road game of the season and has dropped the first two contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (16-13) and Chicago Bears (30-12). The Falcons did manage to pick up a 34-18 win in last year’s meeting with Seattle as 5.5-point road favorites.
Arizona was just a point away from being 2-0 this season, dropping a 22-21 contest to the Washington Redskins as 4.5-point road underdogs. Cardinals betting are 2-0 against-the-spread this year, but have been out-gained in both contests by a combined 214 yards.
Seattle is likely to start the season 0-2 after suffering a 33-17 loss to the San Francisco 49ers as six-point road underdogs and now being the highest priced underdog in Week 2. The Seahawks did manage to out-gain the 49ers by 10 yards last week.
Florida Atlantic travels to The Swamp in Gainesville and will begin the final season under head coach Howard Schnellenberger, who began the program 13 years ago, taking it from obscurity into the major college football ranks
LSU is a dominating 20-4 all-time against current members of the Pac-12 Conference, which includes a 3-0 mark under Miles. Playing inside of a dome will likely factor little in the Tigers ability to come out with a victory, entering with a 22-7 all-time mark when indoors. LSU has won
Bettors are enjoying a unique opportunity to start playing around with the NFL Week 1 lines this year, even with many roster spots in doubt due to free agency starting this week. Professional bettors will continue moving these numbers around until the season kicks off with a premiere matchup
San Diego tries to put a disappointing 2010 season behind them and is currently a 4.5-point favorite in hosting the Seattle Seahawks Thursday night in front of a nationally televised audience on ESPN
The ongoing negotiations between the NFL owners and the Players Association to arrive at a new CBA (collective bargaining agreement) continue to point towards a resolution that could potentially end a four-month owner imposed lockout of the players and reopen the league for business as early as the end of this week
The 2011 Pro Bowl returns to Hawaii after being held in Miami, Florida last year. The annual contest of the AFC's and NFC's best will take place Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at 7 p.m. ET. This is only the second time in history that the Pro Bowl will be held the week
Seattle was a slam dunk pick last week. You knew they were going to play hard at home last Sunday after playing so well against the Rams the week before. Chicago is laughing
This game is actually a rematch played in mid season in New Orleans which was won by the Saints 34-19. As you can tell by the score Seattle was in that game. The big difference here
This is for the division title. The Rams deserve to win the West because of all of the teams out there; they have played the best, week
Seattle still has a realistic shot to win their division while Tampa Bay has an unrealistic shot to get a wild card. Both teams need this game badly
This could be a trap game as it sure looks like that on paper. Atlanta has been playing like the best team in the league, and Seattle can play very bad or very good depending
Both of these teams have been playing very well. Seattle played tough at New Orleans and the Chiefs dominated Arizona. In general the rule is take the home team
Seattle is proving that they have a lot of talent on their team. New Orleans is slowly going thru the season playing good football but
Seattle got killed by the Giants last week while Arizona played well in Minnesota but didn’t win. Anybody can win the NFC West this year, and this is an important division
I told you so. I told everybody that the Giants were loaded on both sides of the ball. The special teams, however, needs a lot of work. They picked up a good return man however this week
Seattle has quietly been playing very good football this year. Arizona has a lot of problems, including starting a rookie free agent at quarterback
The Bears are a good team and there defense is back. They always have one of the best special teams in the league, and the “Mad Scientist†Mike Martz
Another great week. We went 7-3 and hit on our big teaser bet. That makes it year to date, 27-14-1 and 3-1 on Teaser betting. We will start the week
Both of these teams played a great game last week, both beating good teams at home. And both of these teams are on our radar as sleeper teams. This game is impossible
Both teams returned to form last week. The Chargers might win the glass slipper at the end of the year and the Seahawks turned back
After a surprising Week 3 performance in which Wisconsin barely squeaked out a 20-19 win over Arizona State and needed a blocked extra point to do it, the Badgers get
Denver played valiantly last week but lost in Jacksonville. Seattle shocked the 49ers, but not us. We said that we smell a possible upset there.
With emotions running high on both sides of the ball, one team (Florida) will benefit greatly. The other will suffer an embarrassing loss on New Year’s Day. Cincinnati is playing without former head coach Brian Kelly, who led the Bearcats to significant success in recent years
Seattle was able to win a close one against San Francisco last week while Houston lost a game that they had to win at Jacksonville. We have been waiting for years for Houston to finally get their stuff together and they haven’t yet. All is not lost however as in the wacky AFC
This is another one of those mid season games that nobody cares about. The Rams have been playing better as of late but can’t seem to find a way to win. It’s not going to get any easier this week with Mark Bulger out for 3-6 weeks
Virginia coach Al Groh has beaten the Cavaliers’ arch rival Hokies just one time in his nine years at UVA. He and the Cavaliers look to make that number two and possibly avoid his firing this Saturday in Charlottesville. The Hokies are in a down year at 8-3 and will not contend for the ACC Championship,
Not quite the same allure as the Red River Rivalry between Texas and Oklahoma, but this week’s Bedlam Rivalry game is Oklahoma State’s Super Bowl. The Cowboys have had a tremendous season so far and Oklahoma is sitting at 6-5, ensured of its worst season since 1999
Boise State doesn’t play too many home games where they are only 14 point favorites, but that is exactly what they are this week when Nevada comes to play on the blue turf. Boise State needs a win this week, and badly. Though the Broncos are 11-0, their only hope for a BCS appearance
Despite an 11-0 record up to this point, Alabama still realistically needs to win its next two games to get into the National Championship. With Florida a perfect 11-0 as well, the Crimson Tide will need to beat Auburn this week and Florida in the SEC Championship
At first glance you might think that it was quite a shocker that Oakland beat Cincinnati last week, but at we said the Bengals were coming off their biggest win in years and might be flat. We also felt that Jamarcus Russell was hindering the Raider offense and the switch to anybody but he was the correct move
The betting line here has gone up from 7.5 to 9 very quickly. Arizona won this game in Seattle a few weeks ago 27-3,and do you really believe this is going to be any different. Arizona has been playing some of the best football in the NFL as of late.
The Rams had to win sooner or later; it just might as well have been against the Lions. The Seahawks played O.K. against the Cowboys but were never in the game. This is another one of those, mid season, who cares games
Both of these teams have problems. Miami really can’t play offense at the N.F.L. level. They look like a college or high school team at times, with their “Wildcat†offense and their quarterback who throws the ball like a shot put. Another quarterback, who has a funky delivery is Phillip Rivers
The next 2 games that we are picking, we are going a little bit out on a limb. There are 2 home dogs that both played very well last week as huge underdogs. Both teams had opportunities to win outright but didn’t.
The Bears showed what they are made of last week, by beating the Steelers as we said they must. Seattle is in big trouble with the possible loss of Matt Hasselbeck with cracked ribs.
The Seattle Seahawks would like to forget that 2008 ever happened. Their 4-12 record (7-8-1 AGAINST THE SPREAD) was largely due to the injury of quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, who appeared in just seven games, throwing for a career low 57.8 quarterback rating last season.
Stop thinking about rain by itself as a bad weather indicator. Look at the mix of wind, turf quality, and precipitation. It's the mix that matters, not one third of the mix.
Beating NFL 1st Quarter Lines
Bettors no longer have to look at mere sides and/or game totals to strike it rich as mostly all the online sports books (and many Las Vegas) outlets provide first and second half wagering lines along with quarter by quarter prices too on football betting.
