Washington Redskins
History
Founded in 1932, they began as the Boston Braves and moved to D.C. shortly thereafter. The 2 ¨Golden Ages¨of the Redskins were the early 70's under George Allen, and then in the 80's and early 90's under Joe Gibbs. Maverick owner Dan Snyder purchased the team at the turn of the century and is trying to restore Redskin Pride. Currently the most valuable sports franchise. Superbowl Appearances(5), Superbowl Wins(3).
2009 Season Preview
The Redskins are not as bad as people think. Jason Campbell at Qb has his good days and his bad days; Clinton Portis at RB is one of the best in the league. The addition of top Free Agent Albert Haynesworth and also rookie Brian Orakpo will help bolster the defense that had a hard time stopping the run at times last year. The Redskins are going to surprise a few people this year. Jim Zorn must figure out a way to score in the "Red Zone" but if he does, an early season soft schedule might help the Redskins gain confidence and it might ¨Snowball¨ into a playoff spot. This is probably Jason Campbell’s last chance to prove himself as a legitimate starting QB, otherwise it’s time to give back-up Colt Brennan a shot.

With emotions running high on both sides of the ball, one team (Florida) will benefit greatly. The other will suffer an embarrassing loss on New Year’s Day. Cincinnati is playing without former head coach Brian Kelly, who led the Bearcats to significant success in recent years
The Cowboys played their best game of the year last week in beating New Orleans and look like they are ready for a playoff run.
Very sad night for Giant fans last week. Winning the division is out of the question now, but the playoffs are still a possibility. No matter, this team is not winning the Super bowl. This is the worst Giant defense I have ever seen. We have cornerbacks playing safety
Both of these teams were the surprise teams of last week. One succeeded in their mission of pulling a major upset and one fell slightly short. Washington had New Orleans beat last week but found a way to screw it up at the end. We still hit on Washington and the points which is all we really care about. Oakland stood tall
We were right in saying that Washington would play hard against Dallas last week and this week will no different. The Washington defense has been playing much better, and if the offense can score some points then they might be able
Virginia coach Al Groh has beaten the Cavaliers’ arch rival Hokies just one time in his nine years at UVA. He and the Cavaliers look to make that number two and possibly avoid his firing this Saturday in Charlottesville. The Hokies are in a down year at 8-3 and will not contend for the ACC Championship,
Not quite the same allure as the Red River Rivalry between Texas and Oklahoma, but this week’s Bedlam Rivalry game is Oklahoma State’s Super Bowl. The Cowboys have had a tremendous season so far and Oklahoma is sitting at 6-5, ensured of its worst season since 1999
Boise State doesn’t play too many home games where they are only 14 point favorites, but that is exactly what they are this week when Nevada comes to play on the blue turf. Boise State needs a win this week, and badly. Though the Broncos are 11-0, their only hope for a BCS appearance
Despite an 11-0 record up to this point, Alabama still realistically needs to win its next two games to get into the National Championship. With Florida a perfect 11-0 as well, the Crimson Tide will need to beat Auburn this week and Florida in the SEC Championship
At first glance you might think that it was quite a shocker that Oakland beat Cincinnati last week, but at we said the Bengals were coming off their biggest win in years and might be flat. We also felt that Jamarcus Russell was hindering the Raider offense and the switch to anybody but he was the correct move
Washington isn’t as bad as most people think, and Dallas isn’t as good as most people would like to believe. Dallas played terrible last week in Green Bay as a 3 point favorite and the Redskins played pretty well against Denver. This is a divisional rivalry
The Broncos played pretty good for one half against Pittsburgh last week. The Redskins haven't played well since George Bush was President. They got killed by Atlanta last week. It’s put up or shut up time for the Broncos who
Atlanta +10 made us money last week on Monday Night Football at New Orleans. We almost made more money on Atlanta +450 on the money line. The Falcons had many chances to win that game. They missed 2 field goals
You must be kidding me. After losing to Oakland last week, why are the Eagles laying a touchdown versus anybody, even the lowly Redskins. Did you read somewhere that for the first 6 weeks of the season, every team that Washington played came into the game win less?
Kansas City is not as bad as many people think. They almost beat Dallas last week, and didn't give up vs. the Giants the week before. Washington has been playing awful.
Both of these teams have been playing terrible this year. This will be an ugly game to watch. Carolina is coming off a bye, after playing good for 30 minutes at Dallas 2 weeks ago. Washington almost lost at home to Tampa bay after losing to the Lions
The Buccaneers and the Redskins, both played horrendous last week. Washington let Detroit win for the first time since 2007, and Tampa Bay couldn’t move the ball at all vs. the Giants.
Both of these teams have problems. Miami really can’t play offense at the N.F.L. level. They look like a college or high school team at times, with their “Wildcat” offense and their quarterback who throws the ball like a shot put. Another quarterback, who has a funky delivery is Phillip Rivers
The next 2 games that we are picking, we are going a little bit out on a limb. There are 2 home dogs that both played very well last week as huge underdogs.
The next 2 games that we are picking, we are going a little bit out on a limb. There are 2 home dogs that both played very well last week as huge underdogs. Both teams had opportunities to win outright but didn’t.
This game scares me, not only as a Giant fan but as a bettor. This is a trap game for the Giants. After 2 huge wins against division rivals, Dallas and Washington, they now play 3 games in a row versus bad teams
The Rams got shellacked last week by Seattle 28-0 and Washington didn’t fare much better versus the Giants. Steve Spagnolo’s defense sometimes takes a while to understand.
In order to complete our 4 team, 13 point teaser, we are going to tease the Giants from -6.5 to +6.5. The reason for this is simple, the Giants will dominate this opening game as they did in last year’s opener against the Redskins.
The Redskins travel to Charm City in a rematch from last year’s 24-10 Baltimore victory, though neither team bears much resemblance to last season’s squads.
Monday Night Football Betting
Probably the most well known handicapping angle is the “Monday Night Home Underdog.”
Stop thinking about rain by itself as a bad weather indicator. Look at the mix of wind, turf quality, and precipitation. It's the mix that matters, not one third of the mix.
Beating NFL 1st Quarter Lines
Bettors no longer have to look at mere sides and/or game totals to strike it rich as mostly all the online sports books (and many Las Vegas) outlets provide first and second half wagering lines along with quarter by quarter prices too on football betting.
