Bears at the Bills NFL football Betting Pick

Chicago @ Buffalo nfl betting Pick and Preview
Despite a 7-9 record last year (7-9 AGAINST THE SPREAD), the Buffalo Bills actually have reason to be optimistic heading into the 2009 season. The addition of former Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens gives some hope to a franchise that has gone four years without a winning season. Owens was the only major addition or loss that the Bills incurred in the off season, though the loss of offensive guard Derrick Dockery does sting a bit.
Buffalo needs an impressive early season performance from Fred Jackson, who will serve as the team’s starting running back while Marshawn Lynch serves a gun related suspension. At +5000 odds, Las Vegas does not seem to think that the addition of Owens merits a boost large enough to consider the Bills true contenders.
Chicago has a new look this season as well thanks to an off season trade that brought in former Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler. Cutler is a serious solution to the lack of quarterback that Chicago has badly needed for several seasons, though another problem seems to have recently sprouted up: who will Cutler throw to? While speedster Devin Hester is an intriguing option, his college career was spent as a cornerback and a kick returner, and his hands are not good enough to be considered a top receiver in the league. The Bears will have to figure out who can step up as Cutler’s primary receiver. Tight end Greg Olsen may be the team’s leading receiver by year’s end.
At +1500 odds, Chicago seems to be in the middle of the pack to contend for a Super Bowl. The Bears benefit from a fairly weak NFC North, which should help them rebound from a 9-7 (7-8-1 AGAINST THE SPREAD) season last year. The Bills are -3 favorites going into this game.
We like the Bills -3 for our NFL football betting pick.
