Seahawks at the Chargers NFL football Betting Pick

Seattle @ San Diego nfl betting Pick and Preview
The Seattle Seahawks would like to forget that 2008 ever happened. Their 4-12 record (7-8-1 AGAINST THE SPREAD) was largely due to the injury of quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, who appeared in just seven games, throwing for a career low 57.8 quarterback rating last season. His backup, athletic quarterback Seneca Wallace, performed well, throwing for 11 touchdowns and three interceptions, but could not help the Seahawks get over the hump. From October 5 to December 7, Seattle went 1-9, all but sealing their fate on an abnormally poor season.
The Seahawks lost head coach Mike Holmgren, and, as expected, promoted Jim Mora, Jr. Seattle also parted ways with veteran wide receiver Bobby Engram, but upgraded significantly with former Cincinnati receiver TJ Houshmandzadeh, who averaged 89 receptions, 1,012 yards and 7 touchdowns over the past five seasons with the Bengals.
The same faces have stayed in San Diego, as quarterback Philip Rivers and running back LaDainian Tomlinson lead the Chargers offense. The only questions surrounding San Diego appear to be in the production of Tomlinson, whose numbers dropped off to a career low 69 yards per game and 11 rushing touchdowns, his lowest total since his rookie season in 2001. Tomlinson’s numbers in 2006 – 1,815 rushing yards and 28 rushing touchdowns – were record setting, but last year Tomlinson looked like a middle of the road type back. San Diego finished 2008 with a middling 8-8 record (7-8-1 AGAINST THE SPREAD), a considerable drop off from a 14 win 2006 and 13 win 2007 season. The Seahawks are 3.5 point underdogs traveling to San Diego, where they hope to gain back the Matt Hasselbeck of old form, rather than the one they saw in 2008.
