Texans at the Chiefs NFL football Betting Pick

Houston @ Kansas City nfl betting Pick and Preview
Before last season actually started, the Texans were being billed as a team that was poised to make its first playoff appearance ever. The season opened and Houston dropped its first four games and stumbled to a 3-7 record before rebounding to an 8-8 (9-7 AGAINST THE SPREAD) season. The Texans hope to have a healthy Matt Schaub for the entire season, and are looking to get the same production from second year running back Steve Slaton as they did last year.
Houston added and subtracted a handful of backups from last year’s squad, but the same corps of Schaub, Slaton and Andre Johnson remains the same, which is why it is not surprising that they are a longshot at +4000 to win the Super Bowl.
Kansas City is operating under first year head coach Todd Haley, who made his name as the Arizona Cardinals offensive coordinator last year. Haley has a new toy to play with in former New England quarterback Matt Cassel, who filled in admirably for Tom Brady, whose season ended in the first quarter of Week 1 in 2008. Cassel has Dwayne Bowe as his primary target and the Chiefs added Bobby Engram from Seattle in hopes of softening the loss of tight end Tony Gonzalez.
Las Vegas seems to think that Kansas City will need more than one season to get its act together, handicapping the Chiefs at +6000 to win the Super Bowl. That would certainly be an impressive feat after last season’s 2-14 (8-8 AGAINST THE SPREAD) record. Houston travels to Kansas City as a 1 point underdog, and hopes to emerge from the game with a healthy Schaub. The Chiefs would be devastated if anything happens to Cassel, but need to be putting their focus on improving one of the league’s worst defenses.
We like the Texans in this one for our NFL football betting tip.
