Jaguars at the Dolphins NFL football Betting Pick |

Jacksonville @ Miami NFL betting Pick and Preview
After 2007, few would have believed that Miami was poised to have a better 2008 season than their northern Florida counterparts, the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Dolphins finished 1-15 in 2007 and enjoyed a miraculous turn around last season, finishing 11-5 (8-8 AGAINST THE spread). Much of Miami’s success came from the Wildcat, a formation which incorporated direct snaps to running back Ronnie Brown. Early on in the season, the Wildcat threw opposing defenses off and Miami capitalized early and often before the rest of the league began incorporating it into their offenses as well.
The Dolphins appear to be dedicated to continuing the Wildcat Offense, having drafted athletic rookie quarterback Patrick White from West Virginia. White provides an athletic complement to starting quarterback Chad Pennington. Not much else has changed for Miami, which south Florida hopes is a recipe for success.
Jacksonville’s 5-11 season crushed loyal sports bettors, finishing a league worst 4-12 against the spread. Gone are running back Fred Taylor, top receiver Matt Jones and linebacker Mike Peterson, but the Jaguars hope that the addition of veteran receiver Torry Holt will be a positive move, as he is expected to be the top option on the team. Jacksonville also bulked up its depth on the offensive line, adding three time Pro Bowl offensive tackle Tra Thomas from Philadelphia, and first round draft pick Eugene Monroe. Running back Maurice Jones-Drew will be counted on to run the show by himself for the first time in his career, but is expected to be one of the league’s best rushers this season. He teams up with shifty quarterback David Garrard as one of the league’s most mobile quarterback and running back duos. Jacksonville heads five hours south and enters the game as a 3 point underdog.
For our NFL football betting pick take the Dolphins -3.
