The San Francisco 49ers will try and extend their current winning streak to nine games when they head east to tangle with the Baltimore Ravens in a Thanksgiving night clash at M&T Bank Stadium. The game is set to get underway at 8:20 p.m. (ET) and it will be broadcast nationally on the NFL Network.

When Jim Harbaugh took the head coaching job with San Francisco earlier this year, nobody expected an instant reversal in the team’s fortunes, but it comes into this game at 9-1 straight-up and a very profitable 9-0-1 against the spread. The 49ers rolled over Arizona 23-7 last Sunday as 10-point home favorites with the total staying ‘under’ the 40.5-point line. It has now stayed ‘under’ in four of their last five games.

While Alex Smith has done a good job managing the offense with Frank Gore running the ball, the primary reason for this season’s success is a defense that is ranked first in the NFL in points allowed. Through its first 10 games it has given-up an average of just 14.5 points a game.

Baltimore has had an up-and-down season so far, but despite it all comes into this game at 7-3 SU (5-4-1 ATS) and tied with Pittsburgh atop the AFC North. Last Sunday, the Ravens outlasted Cincinnati 31-24 in a game that ended as a ‘push’. The total has gone ‘over’ in eight of their 10 games this season including their last four.

Ravens’ head coach John Harbaugh will be doing everything in his power to ruin his little brother’s trip M&T Bank Stadium, and fortunately he should have a key piece of his defense back in the lineup as Ray Lewis is expected to start after missing last week’s game with a toe injury.

The 49ers are 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 games overall and 9-4-2 ATS in their last 15 games as an underdog on the road. The total has stayed ‘under’ in four of their last five games following a SU win.

The Ravens are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games overall, but 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games at home. The total has gone ‘over’ in seven of their last nine games as a favorite.

This game should turn into a defensive battle given the pit-bull nature of both coaches, so the ‘under’ could be the best play. As far as the sides, stick with the Ravens to cover at home with the win.

Both the spread and the total line continue to drop, so be sure to track any further line movement at BetAnySports.com.
The Pick: Baltimore 20       San Francisco 13
