(1) Alabama vs. (19) Penn State, 7 PM
The marquee game of Week 2, Penn State travels to Alabama where both teams won their first games by at least 30 points. Penn State’s only concern is at running back, where Heisman Trophy candidate Evan Royster played poorly against FCS Youngstown State. If Royster struggled against the Penguins, he will almost certainly struggle against one of the best rushing defenses in the NCAAs in Alabama.
Even without star running back Mark Ingram, the Crimson Tide beat San Jose State 48-3, as Alabama rushed for more than 250 yards. The bulk of that came from Eddie Lacy and Trent Richardson, who combined for 23 carries for 177 yards and four touchdowns. Ingram will not be back for Penn State, but judging from Lacy and Richardson’s performances, Alabama will not need him. Look for Alabama to win this game by two touchdowns. Take the Crimson Tide and the points.
