Group C is one of the more interesting groups for soccer fans paying close attention to the World Cup, and is not limited to England and United States fans. For the U.S., win and they are in. Currently tied with England in second place with two points, the U.S. has now pulled off two impressive come from behind ties, first in a 1-1 draw against England and then a 2-2 tie against Slovenia.
Algeria is coming off an impressive showing of its own, a miraculous scoreless draw against England that left British fans scratching their heads. Many thought that Algeria would be Group C’s door mat, and a gritty performance in the first game against Slovenia showed that Algeria would not simply roll over. Still, this is do or die for the U.S., who is constantly dealing with a reputation for not living up to its hype.
Expect the United States to beat Algeria 2-0, or perhaps 2-1. Unlike its last two games, the U.S. will not have to come from behind this time.
