Baylor is in search of its first conference-opening road win since the 1995 season, as it travels to take on undefeated Kansas State at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.  The Bears will be led by a legitimate Heisman Trophy candidate when the game kicks off.

Robert Griffin III has completed a national-leading 85.4 percent of his passes and has thrown more touchdowns (13) than incomplete passes in three games this season.

The Bears rank second nationally in total offense, third in scoring offense, seventh in passing offense and 15th in rushing the football.

“Robert Griffin is one of the greatest I have ever seen as a player and a coach,” commented Rice head coach David Baileff.  “What he is and what he worked himself into this season is frightening.”

Baylor handed Rice a 56-31 loss last week, as the Bears covered as 20.5-point favorites, out-gaining the Owls by an incredible 257 yards.

The program hasn’t started 4-0 since the 1991 season and is 0-4 all-time in Big 12 play when playing on a national stage, as the game will be televised on ABC.

sportsbook Bettors will find that the Bears are 3-0 ATS on the season and have gone over the total in two of three games.

Kansas State has covered two of three games on the year, including a 28-24 win over Miami as 12.5-point road underdogs.  The Wildcats are starting to receive some votes in the national polls, led by linebacker Tre Walker, who earned Big 12 defensive player of the week honors.

“I’m proud of them for a lot of reasons,” commented Kansas State head coach Bill Snyder.

Kansas State is 7-8 overall in Big 12 openers and has tallied a 30-28 mark versus teams from the Lone Star State.

Over the past 20-plus years, the program is a dominating 113-26-1 when playing in Manhattan, including a 54-23-1 mark when facing conference opponents.

College football handicappers will find that the Wildcats are 11-5 ATS versus Big 12 teams, while the ‘over’ is 9-7 in that span.
