NFL football betting Line and Odds: Bengals -5 1/2, Total 38
We made money for the second week in a row with the Bengals. These are 2 teams heading in opposite directions. The Bengals come into this game at 2-1 after 2 huge wins at Green Bay, and vs. Pittsburgh. They would be 3-0 if not for that ridiculous last second loss vs. Denver in Week 1.
The Browns have played 3 horrible games so far this year, and now are starting to play “musical quarterbacks” with Brady Quinn and Derek Anderson. This is always a recipe for disaster. On paper this game seems easy. The early money went on the Bengals, as the odds jumped quickly from 4 to 5.5.
Every thing points to an easy Cincinnati victory this week. This is NFL betting, however, and nothing is ever easy. Whenever it looks too good to be true, it is.
This game scares me, as a contrarian we always go against the grain, that's why we make money betting in the NFL, and have, for almost 30 years. If the line goes up to 7, jump all over the Browns, if not you could take a chance here on Cleveland, but 5.5 is a little risky.
