Kansas City was absolutely lifeless in a 25-0 home loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week, but it didn’t seem to bother head coach Todd Haley, who has failed to cover the spread in eight career preseason games.

“You have to, as a head coach, look at the big picture all the time,” Haley commented.  “It’s a different set of circumstances and the goal is to be ready for Sept. 11.”

The franchise obviously trusts the third-year coach, as he owns the third-best record among the nine coaches that were hired in 2009.

Baltimore continues to back the mantra of being a defensive team during the preseason, as the ‘under’ is 10-3 in John Harbaugh’s tenure.  The Ravens were handed a 13-6 road loss by the Eagles, but out-gained them by seven yards at Lincoln Financial Field.

The Ravens will be interested in getting their new offseason acquisition on the field, wide receiver Lee Evans started all 16 games for the Bills a season ago, but finished with a career-low 37 catches.

Kansas City’s 3-25 ATS mark before the regular season is hard to even comprehend.
