Saturday, January 2 – Cotton Bowl – Mississippi -3 vs. Oklahoma State
This is the game I want to watch most of all the Bowls. First of all it’s one of the few games that haven’t changed its name due to corporate sponsorship. It has a rich history such as when Joe Montana brought Notre Dame from way back to beat Texas in 1979.
Most importantly though both of these teams are very good and evenly matched. Ole Miss comes in at 8-4, and Oklahoma State comes in at 9-3.
Ole Miss had some quality losses to the likes of Alabama and should have won that game. State would be playing in a bigger bowl except for bad losses to Houston and Oklahoma. We have been riding the Cowboy bandwagon all year and we are not stopping now. Take Oklahoma St.and the points .
We also like the total bet.
With nine wins under their belt, Oklahoma State is looking for its first 10 win season since head coach Mike Gundy was a quarterback on the team. A win in the Cotton Bowl would compensate for a painful 27-0 shut out loss against Oklahoma in the season finale.
The Rebels ended their season with a similar loss, 41-27 to in state rival Mississippi State. Both teams will come into this game with chips on their shoulders. Look for this game to be a shoot out, as both teams have capable offenses and sometimes suspect defenses. Take the OVER.
