It’s kind of appropriate that these 2 teams meet to open the season. They both were 2 of the biggest surprises last year. One of these teams however will be in the mix this year, the other will not. The Falcons are for real. They combine a strong running game, with a good defense, and an up and coming quarterback. The addition of Tony Gonzalez will be huge for Matt Ryan and gives Atlanta a good chance to vie for the Conference Championship.
The Dolphins really snuck up on people last year. An easy schedule, combined with trickery, lead them to an 11-5 finish. However, Miami will not sneak up on anyone this year and will probably finish with a .500 record. In past years we would pick every game, this year we are only going to pick the games we feel strongly about. We like the Falcons here but don’t want to lay the 4 point line, so get some popcorn and enjoy the game, but don’t bet on it.
