Back when Florida State was a perennial Top 25 team, this rivalry had a tug of war aspect to it. If you go back 15-20 years Florida St. was always favored in this game, not anymore. The Seminoles won five of six between 1998 and 2003, and won six of seven from 1987 to 1993. Since then, FSU has struggled a bit, especially against the Gators, losing their last five match ups.
Florida St. comes in at 6-5, and that is what they, are a mediocre team. The defense that has carried them over the years is gone. At this point, the Noles serve more as a potential hiccup to Florida than anything else, while the Gators are striving for another National Championship. They might not be invited to a National Championship with a loss to FSU on their records, making Florida actually give 100% this weekend.
Florida State should keep this game within reason, so look for Florida to win by 21 or so. Take the Noles and the points.
