If Florida was playing intrastate foe Miami (FL), this would be a fantastic Week 1 game. As it is, the Gators are playing a much less intimidating Miami squad – the RedHawks from Ohio, who finished 1-11 last year. While Miami should be much improved from last year, returning 10 offensive and nine defensive starters, it will not improve to the point of being competitive with Florida, at Florida.
Even without Tim Tebow, this Florida team will be able to name its own score against Miami, and if last year’s home opener was any indication – a XX-XX win over XXX – this one will get ugly, quickly. Take Florida -34.
