NHL Betting Previews- Philadelphia Flyers vs. Florida Panthers
The Philadelphia Flyers will try and get back to their winning ways this Tuesday night when they go on the road to tangle with the Southeast Division-leading Florida Panthers. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. (ET) from the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida and the game will be broadcast locally in both markets.

It has been a rocky go of it over the past 10 days for Philadelphia with three losses in its last five games. The latest setback was a 6-5 shootout loss to Boston this last Sunday as a 119 home underdog. The Flyers trail the New York Rangers by three points in the Atlantic Division with a total of 61 points and have an overall record of 28-14-5. They are 17-7-2 on the road this season, but a dismal 17-30 against the puck line overall.

Philadelphia has had little problem putting the puck in the net this season with a goals-per-game average of 3.38 which is ranked second in the league. The problem has been keeping its opponents from doing the same with a goals-against-average of 2.92.

Florida is clinging to a one-point lead over Washington in the division after going just 3-4-3 in its last 10 games. The Panthers snapped a four-game losing streak with a 4-3 shootout win over Winnipeg as 125 road underdogs this past Saturday. They are 22-15-10 overall and 11-5-6 at home and have a respectable 25-22 record against the puck line.

Scoring remains an issue for Florida.  It has only scored three or more goals in two of its last eight games and has an overall goals-per-game average of 2.49, which is ranked 22nd in the NHL. It is also having its fair share of trouble of the defensive side of the puck with a goals-against-average of 2.72.

Philadelphia is 5-2 in its last seven games playing on one day of rest, while Florida is 4-10 in its last 14 games with two days of rest. The total has gone ‘over’ in five of the Flyers last seven games against the Southeast Division, but it has stayed ‘under’ in four of the Panthers last six games against the Atlantic.

Head-to-head, Philadelphia is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall and 14-6-1 in its last 21 trips to Florida. These are the kind of games that Philly needs to win in order to keep pace with the Rangers in the East and it finds a way to head into this week’s All-Star break on a strong note with another win on the road in this series.

The Pick: Philadelphia 4    Florida 2
