The New York Giants head out to the West Coast to square-off against the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday afternoon in a showdown between two of the top teams in the NFC. Kick-off is set for 4:15 p.m. and the game will be broadcast nationally on FOX.

New York maintained it two-game lead in the NFC East with a last-second 24-20 victory over New England as a nine-point road underdog this past Sunday. It was the Giants third-straight win to raise their record to 6-2 straight-up (4-3-1 against the spread) on the year. They are now 3-1 SU (2-2 ATS) on the road this season and the total has gone ‘over’ in four of their seven games overall.

What made Sunday’s win even more impressive was Eli Manning’s ability to move the ball without running back Ahmad Bradshaw and wide receiver Hakeem Nicks. Both are still listed as questionable for this Sunday with lingering injuries and could provide a huge boost if they can return to the lineup.
San Francisco has streaked to the top of the NFC West with a surprising 7-1 start SU and a money-making 7-0-1 record ATS.

The total has been evenly split at 4-4 in its first eight games. Last Sunday, the 49ers extended their lead in the division to whopping five games with a 19-11 victory over Washington as four-point road favorites.

One major area of concern for San Francisco heading into this game is the health of running back Frank Gore. He injured his ankle last week and is currently listed as questionable for the Giants’ game. Gore is one of the main reasons for the 49ers early success with 782 yards rushing on 159 carries.
The Giants are 15-7 ATS in their last 22 games as an underdog. The total has gone ‘over’ in 12 of their last 16 games following an ATS win.

The 49ers are a perfect 7-0 ATS in their last seven games as a favorite and 8-0-1 ATS in their last nine games overall. The total has gone ‘over’ in eight of their last 10 games against the NFC.

New York is a 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings between the two and the total has stayed ‘under’ in five of the last seven games. The last time they met was in 2008 with the Giants rolling to a 29-17 victory as 10-point home favorites. This game will be much closer, but the result will be the same as New York gets the straight-up win on the road. Be sure to track the movement on this line all week long on BetAnySports.com.

The Pick: New York 20      San Francisco 17
