Jets vs Giants Betting Prediction |

The New York Giants and the New York Jets clash this Sunday afternoon in the city championship game at MetLife Stadium in what has become a must-win for each team’s playoff chances as well as bragging rights in the Big Apple.
The Giants still control their own destiny in the NFC East, but after last Sunday’s 23-10 loss to Washington as 5.5-point home favorites they find themselves in a must-win situation heading into this week’s game. They are now 7-7 straight-up (6-7-1 against the spread) and a game behind Dallas in the division. The total has gone ‘over’ in eight of their 14 games this year.
As been the case all season long, much of the Giants’ success or failure against the Jets will hinge on the play of Eli Manning. In the first eight games, he threw 15 touchdowns and six interceptions and the Giants went 6-2. In the past six games he has thrown 10 touchdowns and nine interceptions and the team is just 1-5.
This game is a must-win for the Jets as well after last Sunday’s 45-19 beatdown at the hands of Philadelphia as three-point road underdogs. The loss dropped them to 8-6 SU and 6-8 ATS. They currently hold the No.6 seed for the AFC playoffs with the tie-breaker over 8-6 Cincinnati. The total has gone ‘over’ in 10 of their 14 games.
As usual, the Jets will try and use their rushing attack and shutdown defense to win this game, but neither has been all that consistent this season. They are ranked 21st in the league in rushing yards per game and their defense is ranked 21st in points allowed. Their pass defense remains solid, ranking seventh in yards allowed.
The Giants are 6-13-2 ATS in their last 21 games following a SU loss. The total has gone ‘over’ in their last four games as underdogs.
The Jets are 1-5 ATS in their last six games following a SU loss. The total has gone ‘over’ in four of their last five games as favorites.
These two last met in 2007 with the Giants coming away with a 35-24 victory as 3.5-point home favorites. It has been a long-time coming, but stick with Rex Ryan to remain true to his words as the Jets claim the city title with a win that covers the three points.
The Pick: NY Jets 27 NY Giants 23
