The New York Giants head to the Big Easy this Monday night to face the New Orleans Saints at the Superdome in a battle of division leaders in the NFC. The kick-off for this clash is slated for 8:30 p.m. (ET) and the game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.

New York is still on top in the NFC East but it has company after two straight losses left it tied with Dallas at 6-4 straight-up. The Giants are 4-5-1 against the spread and the total has gone 5-4-1 in 10 games this season.

Eli Manning is having one of his best years as a pro, but he has to hope that last Sunday night’s performance in a 17-10 loss to Philadelphia was just an off-night. He completed just 51.4 percent of his passes and was sacked three times. One thing in the Giants favor is that they have done a great job this season at bouncing back from a bad game.

New Orleans has been able to create some separation in the NFC South with back-to-back victories against Tampa Bay and Atlanta before last week’s bye. It is now 7-3 SU (6-4 ATS) and a game ahead of the Falcons in the division. The total has gone 5-5 in its 10 games this year.

With Drew Brees at the helm, the Saints’ passing game is ranked first in the NFL and the offense is averaging 31.3 points a game. The running game has been bolstered with the addition of running backs’ Darren Sproles and Mark Ingram, who have combined for close to 700 yards rushing and five touchdowns.

New York is 3-7 ATS in its last seven games against the NFC and 1-4-1 ATS in its last six games overall. The total has gone ‘over’ in nine of its last 13 games as an underdog.

New Orleans is 4-0 ATS in its last four games as a home favorite and the total has gone ‘over’ in five of its last seven Monday night games.
Head-to-head in this series, the favorite is 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings and the total has stayed ‘under’ in five of the last eight games.

There are few teams in NFL that are as tough to beat at home as New Orleans. Even though the Giants desperately need this game, stick with the Saints to come away with a win that covers the seven points.
The Free NFL Pick: New Orleans 31      New York 21
