Marquette vs Washington Betting

The breakdown: The Big East’s fifth best team faces off against the Pac 10’s second best team, further demonstrating how down the Pac 10 was this year. Marquette is just a two point favorite despite being seeded five lines higher than its opponent.
Why Marquette will win: Marquette can win close games, as it did by winning three overtime games in a row at the end of the season. Senior Lazar Hayward is one of the best leaders on a Big East team, and the Golden Eagles will make the most of his final games in a college uniform.
Why Washington will win: This is a tough draw for Marquette, as Washington is not a mid major team. It was an underachieving team for much of the season until the end, when the Huskies got hot. Point guard Isaiah Thomas can sink the big shot, and his ability to distribute to the rest of the team will determine whether or not Washington is one and done.
Verdict: Washington by four.
