Maryland Terrapins versus Houston Cougars betting
The breakdown: Houston and Maryland have had a distinctly different last seven days. The Terps got squashed in their ACC Tournament opener, while Houston surprised the nation by winning four games in a row as the seven seed and ultimately won Conference USA’s Tournament. Maryland is a nine point favorite.
Why Maryland will win: Maryland’s trio of seniors: Greivis Vasquez, Landon Milbourne and Eric Hayes are the keys to the Terps’ success. At the end of the regular season, Maryland was one of the hottest teams, winning their last seven in the conference before the conference tournament. Vasquez, the ACC Player of the Year, will need to show up to make their senior send offs memorable.
Why Houston will win: Houston features one of the best under the radar players in the country in Aubrey Coleman, who averages more than 25 points per game. Coleman exploded during the Conference USA Tournament for 90 points in four games, and truly stepped up to the plate. He will need to stay hot to keep the Cougars in the game.
Verdict: Terps by seven or less.
