Saturday, December 26 – Meineke Car Care Bowl -- Pittsburgh -3 vs. North Carolina
Pittsburgh was so, so close to being invited to a Bowl Championship Series (BCS) bowl game. And they will not be forgetting it any time soon. The Panthers dropped the Big East Championship game to Cincinnati in a heart breaking fashion, while North Carolina could not win their last game of the season, which would have landed the Tar Heels into a better bowl game.
In general we like to take the dogs in the bowl games as they went 19-11 last year and something similar the year before, but this is a mismatch. Pittsburgh played well all year, and if it wasn’t for 2 losses at the end of the year they would be in a major bowl.
North Carolina has had losses to the likes of Virginia, Florida St.,and N.C.St. and comes in 8-4.Dave Wannstedt has build a very good program with a great defense, this one won’t be close
In the end, Pittsburgh out classes North Carolina by a fairly wide margin. Look for the Panthers to win by a touchdown or so. Take Pittsburgh and the points.
