Nebraska will match up with Wisconsin for just the fourth game between top 10 teams nationally this season. The Cornhuskers are 4-0 following a 38-14 win over Wyoming last Saturday as 20.5-point road favorites.
Many in the media aren’t expecting much out of the visitor in this contest due to its performance on the field this season, despited coming in with a perfect record. The locker room has definitely had this game circled since the beginning of the season.
“We don’t pay much attention to what people think,” commented Cornhuskers head coach Bo Pelini. “We’re playing a good football team, a well-coached team, in a tough environment. It’s just the next game on the schedule for us.”
Nebraska’s offense continues to improve, gaining 300-plus yards on the ground in two consecutive games, as the team leads the Big Ten in that category.
The Cornhuskers hold a 3-2 edge in this series, but the two teams have played since the 1974 season. That will certainly change now that the programs are part of the same conference.
Nebraska has been solid on the road under Pelini, posting an 11-4 record, including 4-1 marks during the past two seasons. The Cornhuskers have won nine of their last 10 games away from Lincoln.

The dynamic running back duo of Montee Ball and James White have combined for 663 yards on 108 carries, while also scoring 12 touchdowns. Wisconsin was the only school nationally to return a pair of running backs that each gained more than 900 yards a season ago.
Transfer quarterback Russell Wilson has stepped in as legitimate Heisman Trophy candidate, throwing for at least on touchdown passes in 28-straight games. He passed for 347 yards against Northern Illinois.
