Betting on Nicaraguan Baseball - by: Tin Pham

Hot dogs, apple pie, and baseball, one can’t be more American than that.  But here in Nicaragua in the middle of Central America where soccer (or fútbol, in Spanish) rules, finding a good baseball game to watch while soaking up the sun is rare let alone a whole league.  Not many people in the States are aware of this but the Nicaraguan baseball league was revived for the second time in 2006 and has been going strong ever since.

The old Nicaraguan Baseball League (Liga Profesional Nicaragüense) which featured such prominent pitchers such as Jim Kaat and Ferguson Jenkins was dissolved in 1967 due to lack of financial support.  Over the years, there were several amateur leagues formed throughout Nicaragua, including the Liga Nica which featured teams from many cities such as Managua, Granada, Estelí, Chinadega, Masaya, Rivas, Bluefields and León.  Again due to a lack of financial support several teams were forced to drop out and the league folded in 2004 with only 6 teams left.

The new professional league has revived the spirit of baseball in Nicaragua.  The four-team Nicaraguan Professional Baseball League (LNBP) consists of Bóer de Managua, Tigres de Chinandega, Orientales de Granada, and Leones de León.  The 48-game season starts in October and concludes end of January, as not to interfere with our beloved Major League Baseball season.  Now with Nicaragua baseball begins during winter months, betting on baseball continues.

While many baseball bettors are struggling to find any baseball odds during MLB off-season, bettors can look no further than the Nicaraguan baseball league.  With a 48-game season, wagering on baseball will satisfy any bettors’ palate during winter months.  With all playoff games and final game on January 22nd (Nicaraguan Baseball World Series), all MLB baseball odds and Nicaraguan baseball odds are available at VietBet.

With VietBet as a baseball betting paradise, all bettors need to do now is to sit back, enjoy the traditional American game of baseball with an added touch of Nicaraguan spirit.  Every home team features their own cheerleaders and pep band to rally the crowd and yes anyone can bring his own noise maker to cheer the home team, which one will never see at any major league ball park.
