The Alabama Crimson Tide will undoubtedly begin the season with a 3-0 record heading into their SEC opener next week against the Arkansas Razorbacks.  The team has won all three previous meetings in this series by a combined 124-33 margin.

Head coach Nick Saban watched his team pick up a rather dominating 27-11 win over Penn State as 10-point road favorites, while staying below the posted total of 42.

The Crimson Tide have out-gained their first three opponents by a combined 875-yard margin and have tallied ATS victories in each contest.

Alabama has been dominating foes during the month of September under Saban’s direction, posting a 17-2 overall record in the situation, including a 14-0 mark since the start of the 2008 campaign.

It’s been a great start to the season for a squad that returned 19 starters and 51 lettermen from last year’s 10-3 campaign.  The defense has been spectacular in allowing just 17 points over its last 12 quarters of action, dating back to the 2011 Capital One Bowl against Michigan State.

On the offensive end, AJ McCarron has likely moved to the starting quarterback spot, after completing 19-of-31 passes for 163 yards in last week’s win.

college football betting players will find that the Crimson Tide are 10-1 ATS in non-conference action and the ‘over’ is 7-3 in those betting prediction contests.

North Texas is looking to avoid an 0-3 start to the season for the second straight year.  It’s likely going to happen and the program will fall to 3-33 when taking on opponents from the Southeastern Conference.

The Mean Green have played one of the tougher opening schedules nationally, dropping contests to the Houston Cougars (48-23) and Florida International Panthers (41-16).  Unfortunately for bettors, the team has opened with an 0-2 ATS mark.

If the school is to have any hope of staying around with Saturday’s opponent, running back Lance Dunbar will need to step up his performance.  He’s been held under 100 yards rushing in each of the first two games, but has never failed to break the century mark in three consecutive contests.

Bettors will find that the Mean Green are 11-15 ATS over the last two-plus seasons in betting predictions and the ‘over’ is 15-11 in that span.

North Texas is simply looking to avoid falling to 2-8 ATS when knocking helmets with an SEC opponent this weekend.
