March Madness Sweet Sixteen Betting

(2) Ohio State (29-7) vs. (7) Tennessee (27-8)
The breakdown: With Kansas losing in the second round, the Midwest region just became up for grabs. As the 2 seed, Ohio State will do everything in its power to make sure that it reaches the Final Four. A win over Tennessee is necessary in that quest. The Buckeyes are 4 point favorites over the 7 seed Volunteers.
Why Ohio State will win: The Buckeyes have the national player of the year in Evan Turner, who very nearly tallied a triple double in a 75-66 win over Georgia Tech in the second round. Turner exploded for 24 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists, and will be counted on heavily again in the Sweet 16 game.
Why Tennessee will win: Tennessee has not exactly faced the toughest of opponents in the first two rounds, beating 11 seed San Diego State and 14 seed Ohio in the first two rounds. Beating Ohio by 15 points allowed the Volunteers to rest their starters, as none of the five starters played more than 33 minutes. That’s a big difference from Ohio State, who regularly runs a six or seven man rotation.
Pick: Ohio State by 5.
