Oklahoma heads into Tallahassee, Florida with a 5-1 advantage in this series, winning five meetings in a row.  Last season meeting turned into a 47-17 blowout win for the Sooners as seven-point home favorites.

The team was led by the passing exploits of quarterback Landry Jones, who completed 30 of 40 passes for 380 yards and four touchdowns.  The team racked up 487 yards in the contest, which happened to be a season-high total of yardage surrendered by the Seminoles defense.

“They blew us out bad last year,” commented Florida State quarterback EJ Manuel.  “They played great.  Last year was their year.”

Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops is 2-0 in the series and will be facing his brother Mark Stoops, who serves as Florida State’s defensive coordinator.  “Miserable,” the Sooners front man stated in his attitude toward facing his brothers.

The program has tallied a dominating 29-6 record against teams from the ACC, while compiling a 16-10 mark against teams when playing inside the Sunshine State.

Oklahoma had a week off to prepare for this contest after registering an impressive 47-14 win over Tulsa, going out to a 30-0 lead and watching Jones complete 35-of-47 passes for 375 yards.

Wide receiver Ryan Broyles is once again his main target, finishing with 14 catches for 158 yards and a touchdown in the season opener.

The college football betting public will find that the Sooners are 28-31 ATS in September contest and 26-31 ATS as a road favorite in betting predictions.

Florida State is coming off a 62-10 victory over Charleston Southern, but the level of competition is about to rise significantly.  ESPN’s College GameDay is also making its first appearance on campus since Oct. 11, 2003.

The Seminoles are looking to improve to 3-0 for the first time since 2005 and come in with a 257-84-4 all-time record inside Doak Campbell Stadium.  It’s a proud program due to coming in with the nation’s longest streak of consecutive winning seasons at 34.

Second-year head coach Jimbo Fisher will be looking to lead the program to its first victory over a No. 1 team since the regular season finale against Florida in 1996.  Florida State is 8-1 at home under his direction.

Defensively, the unit has allowed just 10 points and 275 total yards, while limiting opponents to 7-of-29 on third-down attempts.
The prime-time showdown is going to provide an electric atmosphere in Tallahassee, as student tickets sold out in 17 minutes.  The last time the team played in front of a sell-out crowd, it led to a 31-7 win over Florida last year.

Bettors will find that the Seminoles are 18-7 ATS when the line is between +3 to -3, while the ‘under’ is 13-11 in those football betting situations.
