This is a rematch of week 1 in which the Packers beat the Eagles 27-20 in Philadelphia. These were very different teams at that time. The Eagles were starting Kevin Kolb, but then he got hurt and the Michael Vick saga began. Green Bay was considered a Super bowl contender at that time and now just slipped into the play offs.
When the play offs begin it is a new season, and any team with a good defense that gets hot can do some major damage. We feel this way about Green Bay. They still have all the ingredients for a championship team. Good veteran leadership, good defense and a great quaterback. The one thing they do not have is a consistent running game, but it has gotten better lately.
The Eagles have a great running game, and can throw the ball as well. Their team speed is one of the best in the league. Have you noticed one thing, however, that since the Giants showed that the way to stop Vick is make him run to his right, the Eagle offense hasn’t been the same. The Packers are very capable of slowing down the Eagle offense. The Eagle defense will have its moments against Aaron Rodgers as well. It’s too tough to pick a side here. We are going under 46.5
