This could be the Game of the Week. We are finally starting to believe in Baltimore after years of saying they are overrated. The reason is they had no QUARTERBACK. They do now. Last year our excuse was that we don’t like rookie quarterbacks, or rookie coaches. Well both Joe Flacco and John Harbaugh have proved they belong in this league. Their defense and running game have always been there, and now the 2 play callers are doing more than adequate.
The Patriots showed last week in beating a very good Falcons team, that they are not going listen to all of the criticism about Brady’s knee and the aging defense. They will be in the hunt for a championship all year long. This is a very tough game to call.
We are going to find out this week if the Ravens are for real or not. Actually we found that out 2 weeks ago when they went into San Diego and dominated that game, but the sign of a true champion is finding a way to win , week in and week out. The Patriots have been there before; Baltimore is still trying to show the world that they belong in the leagues elite. Ray Lewis and the defense have been there, before, and will play well.
Many times what happens in big games is the defenses outplay the offenses (see Texas Tech vs. Houston last week). We expect the Ravens defense to play great this week, but so will the Patriot defense, as they did last week vs. Atlanta. Bet the under 44.5 here.
