Washington and Indianapolis have played 27 times in the preseason and the Colts hold a 15-11-1 edge. During the 2008 preseason, the two teams played in the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio, with the Redskins winning 30-16.
The Redskins are 1-0 in the preseason after a 16-7 home win over the Steelers, as quarterback Rex Grossman played the entire first half and completed 19-of-26 passes for 207 yards and a touchdown.
Grossman will not be the starter in Friday’s contest, as head coach Mike Shanahan has tabbed John Beck to begin the contest. He appears to have recovered from a groin injury that sidelined him for the opener.
Indianapolis dropped its pre season opener 33-10 last Saturday against St. Louis, as quarterback Curtis Painter started for Peyton Manning, who is still rehabilitating after off season surgery (neck).
The Colts remain focused on developing their rookies as running backs, as Darren Evans, Delone Carter and Chad Spann combined for 91 rushing yards in the opener.
Washington may be the play due to being 6-0 ATS as road favorites against an opponent off a straight-up loss.
