Richmond vs St Mary's Betting

Bookmark and Share

The breakdown: Two of the most consistent mid major teams this year, Richmond is favored by 1.5 points in the battle of the east and west coasts.

Why Richmond will win: The Spiders won 10 of 11 games to end the regular season, and are capable of going on a run and upsetting some teams in the tournament. It’s tough to call a seven seed a Cinderella story, but a win over St. Mary’s and another over Villanova would be just that.

Why St. Mary’s will win: St. Mary’s doesn’t have any true marquee wins, but has a resume that includes several good mid major wins. The Gaels would like to add Richmond to that list, and big man Omar Samhan leads them with 21 points and 11 rebounds per game.

Pick: Richmond by five.
