South Carolina will begin its 20th season in the Southeastern Conference and is 8-11 in league openers since joining prior to the 1992 season. The Gamecocks come into this game off a 56-37 come-from-behind victory over the East Carolina Pirates last week.
Last year’s meeting was dominated by Gamecocks running back Marcus Lattimore, who gained 182 yards on 37 carries in a 17-6 win as three-point home favorites. The game stayed well under the posted total of 44.5
The program is searching for back-to-back wins over Georgia for the first time since the 2000 and 2001 seasons and just for the sixth time in the history of the series.

Georgia was handed a 35-21 defeat last week against the Boise State Broncos and many expected it due to eight true freshmen making their debut in the contest. The Bulldogs are an unimpressive 6-13 ATS in their last 19 games following a straight-up loss.
Sophomore quarterback Aaron Murray finished last week 16-of-29 throwing the ball for 236 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. He is hoping to build off a freshman campaign that saw him post the highest passing efficiency rating for a freshman.
Many of the Bulldogs feel that the team can bounce back and get up for their first conference game. “It’s the first game of SEC play, and we want to control our destiny,” said Georgia tight end Aron White. “All of our goals are still in our grasp.”
college football betting players will definitely be interested in knowing that the Gamecocks are 4-1 ATS in their last five meetings at Saturday’s venue, while the ‘under’ is 13-1 in the last 14 meetings.
