When Oklahoma and Stanford meet in the Sun Bowl, it will be a cross roads of two different teams who have had completely different seasons. Behind the stellar play of Heisman finalist running back Toby Gerhart, Stanford had its best season in eight years, finishing 8-4 with a No. 19 ranking.
Meanwhile, Oklahoma had one of its worst seasons in recent history after Heisman hopeful quarterback Sam Bradford went down early on in the season with a recurring shoulder injury. The Cardinal continue to win games few expect them to, including wins over No. 24 Washington, No. 7 Oregon and No. 11 USC this season, while Oklahoma has struggled with its consistency all year, scoring just three points in a loss to Nebraska and scoring 65 points in a win against Texas A&M the next week. Look for Stanford to continue their magical run. Take the Cardinal and the points.
