Syracuse versus Vermont Betting

Bookmark and Share

The breakdown: Syracuse, one of the country’s four strongest teams, faces off as a 17.5 point favorite over a Vermont team that is offensively oriented. The Catamounts rank seventh in the country in scoring, and hold their opponents to a low field goal percentage.

Why Syracuse will win: An overwhelming advantage on both sides of the board should give Syracuse a distinct advantage in their opening round against Vermont. Unless Syracuse is truly overlooking the Catamounts, the Orange should win comfortably.

Why Vermont will win: Vermont has won 11 of its last 12 games, and despite not having a marquee win on its resume, the Catamounts are playing the best ball of their season right now. They excel in offensive rebounding but struggle from the free throw line, unlike most mid major teams.
Verdict: Syracuse by 15.
