Tennessee has won consecutive games since dropping its season opener to the Jacksonville Jaguars, but lost a significant piece of its offense with a season-ending injury to wide receiver Kenny Britt.

“You just don’t make up for losing Kenny Britt and think one guy is going to come in and fill his shoes,” commented Titans head coach Mike Munchak.  Britt was the AFC’s leader with 271 receiving yards after Week 2’s games.

The two teams will be playing each other for the 61st time during the regular season, with the Titans trailing, 33-27, in the series.  Most recently, the Titans were able to clinch a division title with a 28-9 win over the Browns as 14-point home favorites in 2008.

Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck has stepped in under center nicely and his 932 passing yards make up his highest total of his career through three games of the season.  It’s only been exceeded by Warren Moon’s 989 yards in 1990 and 970 yards in 1992 in the franchise’s history.

Everyone in the NFL is waiting for running back Chris Johnson to break loose, as the’s carried the ball 46 times for 98 yards this season.  Cleveland’s Peyton Hillis isn’t doing much better, gaining 151 yards on 44 carries, as both are averaging less than 3.5 yards a touch.

sportsbook bettors will find that the Titans are 15-19 ATS over the last two-plus seasons and the ‘over’ is 19-16 over that span.

Cleveland has also won two consecutive games and is coming off a 17-16 win over the Miami Dolphins as one-point home favorites.  The Browns played that particular contest without Hillis in the backfield, as he was suffering from an illness.

“I’ve started feeling better the past couple days,” commented Hillis.  “I’ve gained back a little of the weight I had lost.”

The Browns figure to have a tough time running the ball against a Titans’ defense that has allowed only 267 rushing yards and an average of only 3.1 yards per carry.

NFL betting pro football handicappers will find that the Browns are 5-3 ATS in October games and the ‘over’ is also 5-3 in that span.
