Virginia Tech and Wake Forest will be meeting for the 36th time, with the Hokies holding a 23-11-1 series advantage.  Last year’s contest resulted in a 52-21 win for Virginia Tech as 23-point home favorites, out-gaining the Demon Deacons by 266 yards.

The Hokies have averaged 10:10 more time of possession that opponents this season, which could be too much to overcome, considering they held the Demon Deacons to just nine first downs last year.

Running back David Wilson is the offensive star, rushing for over 100 yards in five of the team’s six games, while the defense is averaging three sacks a game.  Wide receiver Jarrett Boykin is a major threat on the outside, ranking No. 1 all-time at Virginia Tech in pass receptions (143) and receiving yards (2,346).

sportsbook bettors will find that that Hokies are 1-5 ATS on the season and the ‘under’ is 4-1 in those contests.

Wake Forest will be playing its second straight ranked opponent inside BB&T Field, as the team will be looking to win its fifth consecutive game.  The Demon Deacons are coming off a 35-30 win over the Florida State Seminoles as 10-point home underdogs.

Quarterback Tanner Price has been playing tremendous football, completing 21 of 35 passes for 233 yards and three touchdowns.  He has completed 101 of 162 passes for 1,352 yards and 10 touchdowns this season.

The main offensive threat on the outside is wide receiver Chris Givens, who is on pace to finish the 12-game regular season with 1,438 receiving yards, which would break the school record of 1,043.

When making your college football betting picks, take into account that Wake Forest is 13-15 ATS over the last two-plus seasons and the ‘over’ is 14-13 in those games.
